  • Join us on this 4k virtual walking tour through Totnes Devon. Totnes is one of the top Devon tourist attractions dating back to 907 AD and is consistently rated one of the top places to visit in Devon.
Totnes is known for its New Age community and is known as a place where you can live a bohemian lifestyle.
The towns name derives from the Saxon word for a fort or a lookout on a ridge. The town was originally a fortified Saxon settlement, built to protect the upper reaches of the river from Viking raiding parties.
Totnes is one of the best places to visit in Devon, with centuries of fascinating history and a fun arty atmosphere.

There is a steam train that runs between Totnes and Buckfastleigh!

@@thewayfarerswalk Happy to watch!I like the natural sounds, instead of a soundtrack-it's like music,to me.I'd like to go there during the Christmas festival and walk through the streets/eat lentil soup.

Our family lived in Totnes for a couple of years in the 80's when I was a teenager. I have such fond memories there and this is a lovely reminder of what a great town Totnes is. I personally love a visit there as the shops are so unique and if I can get in a visit on Market Day with my family we love looking round the stalls and enjoying the food.

Hello Tracy. Thank you for your comment. Yes, there are a good number of independent shops.
