I have one of these it seems sharper then my Belomo loupes the trade-off is the optical stop cut into the middle of the lens which gives it it's sharpness buy blocking the peripheral refracted rays which at the same time restricts the field of view. Since the optical properties of this loop are so different than achromatic triplets I'm surprised not a word is said about it. Maybe the review should have gone into the history a little of William Hyde Wollaston putting the two hemispheres of glass together with optical cement.
