I'm feeling, at the same time sad, and proud to be a Puerto Rican. Sad, because the Matias loss, and proud for the judge's decision. Can't take the belt off a champ by clinching and rabbit punches and shoe shine shots. The punches landed by both was very identical, nothing wide. Matias got set up at home

I'm not as impressed with Paro as everyone seems to be. He has no power, held and pushed off continuously. If the referee allows a guy to constantly hold and push off, of course he'll do better. This replay was very short but it looks like Paro took more damage. Every referee is different, they need to standardize what's acceptable and what's not. Constantly holding and using your arms to push the other guy back isn't impressive to me. Paro wasn't landing that much either, most punches were being blocked.

He still was getting punched an pushed to the ropes. His clinching is what was truly great as it was what saved him from getting stopped

As an analogy, this fight reminded me a little to Shane Mosley when he fought Margarito. Same strategy, when the bigger pressure fighter just goes forward and Shane outboxed him and clinched when he felt the heat. Obviously different fighters but same concept.
Nah when the ref told Shane to break the clinch he actually listened, Paro several times didn't listen to the refs instructions on breaking the clinch to the point where the ref had to literally pull Paro off Matias. That should've warranted a stern warning or point deductions

How can so many Puerto Ricans an even Matias himself be ok with what just happened? Just cuz Matias didn't KO or drop Paro doesn't mean he didn't win. Literally had Paro no other options but to hold whenever he couldn't escape or get his offense together. Style wins fight is a fact. Everyone thought Matias was going to destroy Paro but not the case. It's a crazy sport man.
Paro is very smart. By closing the distance, pushing against his opponent, focusing on short in and outs and not allowing Matias to walk him down, Paro minimised the power of Matias which focuses on distance to bring power. So, using this tactics and also working on short body shots he was able to exhaust Matias and wear him down a little. This was a great boxing match. Congrats to the champ and hard luck to Matias.

The tactics used by Paro will definitely lead to them hugging because Matias is used to walk down his opponents meaning that they go back while he approaches them. Paro did the opposite and advanced leading to less space and more close combat. What you call "rabbit punches" are strong short body shots and since you have never been on a ring let me tell that one punch like that would knock you out. Stop with your stupidity, delusion and hate and learn something instead of talking nonsense.

Paro did such a great job against Matias. He scores his points from long range with sharp combinations and when Matias start coming in , he clinchs to disable Matias's biggest weapon ( the volume of close fighting). Although im a fan of Matias, im still can't deny that Paro won fair and square.

I don't see how Matias was rated so highly respectfully. A lot of his fights were toe to toe and against guys who stood in front of him.
Matias definitely hits hard but he just cant box. Hes another deontay wilder. Paro dont even hit that hard so if it was teo or pitbull they would have knocked matias out

@FloresRain Although Matias's hits have an effect once he's landed enough, he's not what I would call destructive, but accumulative, despite his KO ratio. Paro didn't let himself get hit enough which rendered Matias less effective. He's proven his own way of boxing but his defence is definitely not his strength

This is a hypejob exposed type of video. I get that Matias hit very hard etc but some casuals had him on the p4p list for the 140lb division without beating anybody. They had him in top of Teofimo and Devin Haney when he hadn’t fought somebody with a pulse. Same thing when casuals were saying Adrien Broner was great even before fighting Maidana, same thing casuals were saying Wilder was great even before fighting Fury 😂😂😂😂
