She may be more skilled in it than she shows. Many Koreans seem to be self-conscious about their foreign language skills unless they are very good at it. I think that is an influence of their educational system and perhaps some cultural influences where if you aren't really good at something you don't show that talent. It's like I was watching an IZ*One video filmed in New York and LA last summer and obviously Wonyoung speaks English quite well, but the other members did well making themselves understood and while their grammar and vocabulary might have been a bit rough, for a foreign visitor their English was really quite good.
She even has an accent

Fun fact : None of them have any related to mix family (just like Korean-American and so on). All of them really learned english and that's why they slayed all of their English covers. One of the reason why i stan this group because of their hardworking. They don't just give up saying, "I don't speak english" easily.
They Just studied english in school, exactly as everyone else does.... for the songs they Just memorize the pronunciation, The Only One Who Is still studying english Is yoohyeon and Only becouse She Is the One in charge for it

Also, that school thing you mentioned doesn't make sense at all, all of them have graduated and you using the excuse of "Well I didn't do well so everyone else must've not done well either!1!!1!" is plain out stupid. Don't base someone else's learning abilities and how good they are at a certain language off of YOUR experience. The girls have been rapidly picking up English phrases from Yoohyeon and they've done way better than you have, considering they are way past the optimal age for learning another language, and look at you, what the fuck is "sholastic"?? You have no right in what to say for their English as you aren't even a native/fluent speaker?? Who are you to judge?? Sit down and stay quiet :)

When I saw Dreamcatcher in Chicago, I was floored with how fluent Dami was in English since that’s something she’s never really tipped off previously.
Dami is really intelligent and humble from what I've seen, so it makes sense that she doesn't just flaunt her abilities in anything.

I do have a correction, though. At 3:01 they aren't saying "Protect, please." They are saying "Mosaic, please." A 'mosaic' is a graphic used to obscure someone's face which is exactly what they used to cover JiU's face. No need to correct the video, though, because it's the same sentiment, basically.

Gahyeon is really the mvp in this one :) Her "I'm not good" - I think of that whenever someone uncomfortable happens. If not for Covid, if Dreamcatcher was ever taking a long break of say 6 or more months, if I was Happyface's CEO, I might try to convince Yoohyeon to go study English in an immersion course in the US or Canada as she'd be pretty fluent after a few months. For someone who has never lived overseas, her English is quite good.
She actually studied in the Philippines when she was younger (She said it in an interview with a youtuber)

Gahyeon, in particular, says a lot of English exclamatory phrases on camera like, "Oh my God!" And, "Sorry!" So, it make sense that off camera she probably uses some curse ones as well. She probably picked up some colorful words during their US tour. But, notice how she's the only one that reacted to her slip up, the other girls didn't realize she was cussing. Yoohyeon would've known, though, so she's lucky she wasn't there! 😂😂
