Bought all of the components and followed this guide. The degree to which this mod changes the experience of using this cabinet is unreal. It’s completely different. Thanks for putting this together.
I finally got mine built today. Far exceeded my expectations. My kids love it and at just under 6 feet and with full dad-bod I don't feel uncomfortable. Ordering the parts and here comes the rumble. Thanks, Ralph.
Ok, got all the components and finally assembled tonight. So cool! Totally changes the experience, especially on Outrunners. What an awesome and easy mod to really add a new dimension to the game. I gotta say, I am really loving th is Outrun cab. Great idea, man.
Damon, shoot me your address when you get a chance. I need to get you a new Y-Splitter, I updated the parts list last night but I made a mistake on the original list. It will actually make it sound even better. If you get a chance read my latest community post where I explain the problem. Thanks so much and I'm glad you're enjoying it! Here's my email: RetroRalph1980@gmail.com
Would do this for Daytona in a heart beat! Will wait for it and hopefully we can play it online together or link systems. Keep up the Great work Ralph!
Got mine today! A lot of fun so far but my wife thought I looked a little big for it. 6’1”. You were right Ralph...hard to look cool on this but it’s a blast.
I have taken to your TMNT audio mod concept and applied it to my TMNT and Star wars standup cabs. I added 8in shelled bass and two 4in 50w speakers with functional original speakers so 4.1 audio. It is amazing. Pumps gameplay way up including vibration. I got the Bluetooth 2.1 amps too. I added two 4in 50w speakers including original to my MK cabinet with a Pot from DIY. While it is not as nifty as the costco version the two extra speakers are loud enough to vibrate my pants lol. I know it can accommodate a fourth speaker if I wanted. Technically still mono sound on MK2 but none the less awesome!
Damnit Ralph, first I build your hod cab now Already ordered arcade graphix wheel Sticker. I’m going to have to do the audio mod now too.....! Thanks for the content man.
@@RetroRalph so i did this mod, I have the Star Wars bench edition and was considering doing the same. Do you think this would work on that cab as well? Didn’t know if the new ourun pcb (with a fan) was a requirement to prevent overheating. Thanks again and looking forward the weekly this week. C u on the next 1!
@@coderedclips4195 It would totally work on your Star Wars cabinet as well! As long as it's the newer PCB with the 3.5mm audio jack, you're good to go!
Great video Ralph, I really want to see how to add transducers to my Virtual Pinball Cabinet. The more details the better, what parts to use, how to connect and power them, and how to configure them to work with VPX and FX3
Just did this to mine thanks to your video! You're right, that bass shaker really adds a lot! I've nicknamed the mod the butt blaster. My wife says it'd sound cooler with a number after it so maybe the butt blaster 3000? 😂
@@RetroRalph I’m thinking I’m going to go all out with this one. Looking at building a platform or box for it to sit on. Might try to fit a better seat or Atleast a high back on it. I’m supposed to get mine delivered on Monday!
You definitely need to test it on the control panel, since honestly the sitting version seems way too small for tall people and thus standing versions won't have the seat to rumble with.
"Let's feel it together!!" .. still a better choice than "LET'S GET READY TO RRRRRRRUMBLEEEEEE!!" 😂😋🍻 I didn't even know A1Up was doing racer cabinets, but I think I'd still rather an actual Outrun, Hard Drivin', or After Burner, even though they're probably $1,500+, and then another few thou in repairs/restoration.. Thanks for enhancing this one though, loved Outrun no matter the venue. I can't remember, were some cabinets fixed with fans inside, to simulate the passing breeze? Or may just have been set around, for atmosphere lol Much as they tried to "bring the arcade home!", it never replaced the experience, to me. Even seeing these new/freshened T2 cabinets, I can feel the cold fistful of quarters in anticipation. 😂😍😎 Amazing how Rumble motors from 30 years ago, did more for me than VR in 2020 can do now. Thinking of having that Virtual Boy (Oculus/PSVR) hanging from my head, screen just inches from your eyes, I get headaches and neck aches just the same. Retro (Ralph) FTW!! Awesome work, indeed!
I installed two bass shakes under control panel. Works pretty awesome for Outrunners. Just hate how the shakers react mostly to the music. Trying fo tweak the volume settings to get it right.
@@Almostgoffful yea was looking into that but the amp I am using does have a separate bass volume dial and a frequency dial but dosen't seem to do much. Just reacts mostly to volume. Unless i just don't know how to set it properly. Haha
1:29 main problem with that is, the audio out of the PCB is already an amped signal, so you're amping an amped signal, which isn't a very clean signal path. Not your fault, of course......Arcade1Up should give people who want to do audio upgrades a dedicated RCA analog audio out that bypasses the internal amplifier that's inside the PCB.
Thanks for this - gonna try for my new Outrun cab. Question about your pinball cab - I know people usually set up 4 of these into their cabs. Do you just use the one?
I wonder if putting one of these under the dash in the standup version would simulate some rumble with the wheel. I'm too big/don't have room for the seated version so I opted for standup version.
I did it but it rattled quite a bit. You might need to consider taking the plastic cover off the back of the control panel and leaving it off. It worked well actually but with the plastic backing on, it was annoying. Good luck and let me know how it goes! 💪🏻
Good to know! I already blew thru my stimulus but next paycheck I'll get the decals and also buy that audio equipment and try that mod. Several of my other cabs already have plastic removed because I made enough button and stick changes that I got sick of removing it every time. I got LED buttons for this cab so I can make that upgrade right away and I'll just leave the cover off.
Hi Ralph, question. I purchased the bass shaker and 2 mini bass shakers to put behind steering wheel. I was wondering if I can connect both shakers into the same amp or would I need two amps? Bench bass shaker in super bass input and both mini bass shakers connected to the left and right channels on the amp. Also is the large bass shaker overkill for the bench or just right? Thanks!
Do you think putting a pc sunbwoofer speaker set would supply enough rumble inside the bottom of bench placed against inside wall? This would privide rear sound effects too with the speakers hooked up to woofer if all could fit inside. Or do you recommend the transducer? I want the best immersion. Thanks!
Now all you just need to do is put a motion rig up to it get it swaying left and right like the ones in sim racing setups!! I have transducers on my sim racing rig and love them!!!! Just wow!! Bass transducers will definitely make your butt feel it 😂
You look like a giant on that thing LOL its deff made for a 8 year old.YeP Stabs your Butt get it all up in there! 1Up is NOT a real arcade! Change my mind! lol.

LMAO!!!
Def needs a full cab redo...

You need a power amp with a low pass filter so you can adjust which frequencies go to the transducer.

Does the volume knob on the amplifier control the volume for the speakers?
