I actually had a carry today in a rec game and don’t recall that happening in over 2 years, but I went ahead and called it on myself.

rule 2 seems to add a bit more confusion. since I'm doing mainly rec play I think most things that look like a double will probably just be ok to play through... but I do wish that the double hit (even for a continuous motion) was just eliminated

For mini-singles, how will the middle line in the kitchen be handled? Will a temporary tape line be added?

Been adding tape in the past for skinny. Skinny needs to have it's own tournament or add another day to the schedule. Already not enough time as it is.

What about the serve rule? Something about holding the ball "below" the waist??

Ball must be at waist level or below.

You’re probably referring to the tournament rule changes for the serve. That change is for professional tournament play only in 2024

That was confusing for my group. That’s only the volleyball serve, not the drop serve for the rule change and only at tournament.

@@danielcielmaee3642 only at SOME tournaments! It’s a provisional rule so it doesn’t have to be used at a tournament. I hope the rules gets tossed fast.

I think they got mini-singles wrong. A Pickleball court is exactly the same dimensions as a badminton court. What they should do is add inner-sidelines such that when you play doubles, you play to the outer-sidelines (which is the current width of the court - 20ft), but when you play singles, you play to the inner-sidelines, which is a reduced width court (17ft) just like tennis or badminton.
