back in 1990 my old band was opening for Psychotic Waltz at Club Rios and I remember buying their demo from Ward and he looking at our demos on our table and buying one from us. Then a few years later someone lifted that demo from my room. Fuckers.
Hell yeah brotha 🤘My Band Infrared played with them a couple times in the 80's as well! Great bunch guys and i still stay in touch with Norm today!
Extremely underrated, also one of the best live performances when it comes to Progressive Metal!
Angelo Sasso couldn't agree with you more!
@@MartijnMartens why?
Best underrated band ever. Enough said.
the early prog is the most beautiful branch of metal, the Dream Theatre came and changed the rules of the game.
crimson glory fates warning, queensryche, and psichotic waltz are engraved in gold.
I LISTEN TO FIRST 2 CRIMSON GLORY ALBUMS EVERYY WEEK OVER AND OVER AT WORK FOR LIKE THE LAST FWW MONTHS THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS AND BRING BACK SOOOO MANY MEMORIES OF. EING 17 HAHA PSYCHOTIC WALTZ FATES WARNING I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO SEE FATES WARNING OPEN FOR SANCTUARY FOR INTO THE MIRROR BLACK ALSO TROUBLE!! NOT PROG BUT ALLL THOS BANDS BACK IN THE 90S WERE ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS !!
early dream theatre was quite good, but then they started sounding like a midi file
@@dyasny lmao. Never woulda thought to describe DT like that but it sure as hell hits the nail on the head.
Don't forget Watchtower too
@@daffanurfauzan1220 YES!! 🙏😎🤘

The guy with WATAIN thirst sings a psychotic waltz song this is the beauty of heavy fuckin metal
I love you guys... Cought you back in 98 i thnk at Christania, Copenhagen... We had a beer and it was great as a fan and a fellow muscician to talk to your guys -all my love
der var jeg osse :) fedt koncert !!
Outstanding!!! Greetings from Brazil!
First time hearing this band. Good stuff.
This is my most favorite video of Devon and PW, I could not count how many times I have (proudly 😉) shared it!
First saw Buddy (Devon) at the battle of the bands at Licks Arcade in Santee. Smoked all the other bands by far. Norm (drummer) worked at, and then owned Blue Meanie records in El Cajon. Best SD metal band in my opinion. FYI chair or no chair Brian was always with girls after the show. Many, from my recollection.
This is the best youtube video I've seen this year.... I've listened to Psychotic Waltz for many years but never saw them live. The first time I remember to search youtube for their live show and it blows me away... I hope you keep playing guys and I really hope I manage to see you live!! This is one of the few remaining bands worth seeing live that actually have a discography .
Man, how good it is to see this amazing guitarist back on stage... Remember Way back in the ninetees... He had to stop after we experienced him in Cph. and here he is again... Great guitarist!
When other excellent bands deserve 10/10, PW are above 20!!!
First time I saw Buddy sing was at Licks Arcade in Santee, CA for a "battle of the bands"
Ok this band is basically out of my back yard. I didn't know they were this good. I didn't get into the local club scene, but I would see them on the marquees.
I love this band!
They quit in 1996. Buddy Lackey [Devon Graves] continued with Deadsoul Tribe [Also amazing band]. PW reunited in 2010 and apparently they are working on a new album :)
Seriously awesome.
thank you for the post.
Лучшая песня у Психотик!
I love this song so much , I miss Mark naranjo so much
Amazing Progressive metal band who should not have quit. Those of you who miss the magic and true essence of Psychotic Waltz, might want to explore Devon Graves' other band called The Shadow Theory. Amazing music that has all the P.W. traits fused with some Deadsoul Tribe.
Sakada Reich thankx for the link to shadow theory-i didn’t know🙏🏽🙋🏽♂️
@@akalauerbach9705 Dead Soul Tribe too, is another band with Devon on vocals. Also, PW drummer Norm "The Legend" Leggio, worked with Cage on 2 albums
Psychotic Waltz are great but I miss Deadsoul Tribe :(
1997.06.26.Budapest E Club Psychotic Waltz.Full house a 3 hour madness.....
My absolute "favorite" bands are at least 15 or 20 (plus tens and tens or hundred that i like more or less, not in rock/metal field only), just to say, and spanning from the early 70s to the 90s (regarding their respetive debut albums), of several genre/styles, from hard rock-early heavy metal to death metal and more, so i'm not the typical DT fan who listen and like just that band (and perhaps just for the "technical" aspect), nor i'm a "kid", i was already 17 and half years when i first listened to them after the purchase of "I&W", following the reading of the poll results on one of the main rock/metal magazine in Italy at the time, called Flash, in which they won "best album" of the year and maybe "band" too (and various single musicians poll, drummer etc.), and for the influences and style that were quoted in the little article dedicated to their victory. By the way, that magazine was not so "prog" in general, but more "true" metal (of any kind, plus hardcore, grindcore or on opposite AOR and similar styles etc.), and the band was almost unknown at the time (and i think not only in Italy), but they surprisingly won in the year of the new albums by the such of Megadeth, Manowar, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Pantera and many others. And the same they did in '94, '99 and '02 (on that magazine and not only, even in the sole Italy).
good ballad
very underrated band.
I havn't seen some of these guys since the mid 80's. They look the same!
I am ashamed. I was present on that festival and missed that gig....
Ich bin beschämt. Ich war auf dem Festival und habe den Auftritt verpasst....
Fuck! If known this band from the beginning!
Uh, Subsonic from San Diego (re: Hopper Stone) was their first label\promoter for their first Euro tour, if I am not mistaken.
unique
Talk about putting in your time, or doing your time in the trenches.....these guys have done it!!
Best prog metal of all times!
A social grace & into the everflow...
Dream theater's a bad joke
Cream theater...🤣
when a new tour?!?!! :)
Very nice band, so underrated ! I'm just wondering how the electric guitarist can use a foot switch (don't take it as a bad joke please).
BUddy's back.!!
I hoped for "Into the everflow" but they didn`t broadcast it on "Rockpalast" : (
I like, even if not as much as DT (i listen to them since early '93, i've been already listening to hard rock/metal since '91-'92, just to say), all that bands i repeat, some albums more and some less (this is normal, also for my favorite bands ever), BUT none of them can challenge with DT. I don't talk just or only about tech and blabla, i don't play and i don't give a fuck to such "bullshit", i listen to music only, to the entire songs, to the "whole", like for every other band, and none of the other (i can add Watchtower and others too, regarding the "old ones") has ever had the SONGS of DT, which are the reasons of all the rest: found a major label (after the debut album), recorded in great studios so the great sounds, sold hundred of thousands and then millions of albums, played constantly (almost ever sold out) shows worldwide in medium-great places etc.etc. Stop believing that just a strictly minority of people are taste or competence for music, even in rock/metal many many people rightly want (and not since yesterday...) at least decent sounds, real songs (this PW song is for sure such, and others too, but others not, and the same and more goes for many many so-called "prog" or "techno" metal bands since the 80s on), they want to find the records in an easy or quite easy way, they want a real singer and not a "cat" (who said Arch?) etc.etc. These are the facts and the simple truth of the matter, like it or not.
..Ian Amdersson's best disciple..!
listen to other songs fromm PW and get the right Picture .
COMPLETE LIVE ??
Fuck me there's some acostic guitar playing in this
You can upload more songs of this concert?
Great band! What happened to them?
They dismantled and Buddy (Devon) continued with Deadsoul Tribe, but the reunited! Go listen to their latest album The God-Shaped Void from 2020.
haha I remember when Buddy had hair=)
I don't find something funny about this, my friend..
I remember when Jordan Rudess had hair, too..
Do You have "Morbid" from this show?
X Roberto Pérez Rivero (and alike): Prog metal, you mean, first of all (for prog in general is born very much earlier than the 80s, in the last 60s and in UK, not USA). Second, this PW song in particular was a "tribute" to Jethro Tull, in fact it has much more influences of that band (not only for the flute, also other PW songs had it) than many other of their songs. Third: why this obsession with "who is better of who?" or even worse "the "true" X genre was better in the early years" or "if i like that kind of bands i can't like also the others"? It's silly, and just personal tastes and criteria, so useless if you try to force them to the other people. I like Dream Theater and also PW and many others, but they are all different, DT for sure, like it or not noone had done DT music in that way before (nor after, just milions trying to imitate them, 99% are useless and poor bands and musicians), with that SONGS, not only "technical" matters (you don't sell millions and millions of copies without GREAT songs that even millions of non-musicians like, as done by DT since almost the beginning and surely since "I&W" on, and always without great marketing affairs etc., but day by day like the old way). Ah, DT formed in '85 and beging to write their songs right then, so they are not so much "young" or "later" than others (PW in particular are instead surely later, at least for the release of the respective debut albums, 1990 vs 1989), and their influences was (and still are, mostly) all from 70s and 80s bands, from prog rock to thrash metal and almost every other rock (and not only) music style around, all mix up in a "new" and unique style both in composing and performing. The others, all good bands, but compare to DT was/are "normal" heavy metal band or so, with just some sounds and parts here and there more "technical" or "proto-prog", but nothing to do with the music, "visions" and approach of DT. Like it or not.
Does anybody know if the guitarist underwent any kind of illness or he's just doin' a strange "performance"?
Santo Cristo
In the bibliography is written that he suffered from a car accident
The Band was formed 1988 dis-solved somet.and reunited in 2011.
I still have a T-Shirt from 1995 Mosquito Tour, they must have played here in this region altough i must admit , I dont remember...stupid Alcohol.^^
yep, he's always been in a wheelchair as long as I've seen 'em play... I used to see them a lot locally in the eighties. If I remember right, he also worked at the local guitar center... (or maybe he was just always there jammin' away.)
+Andar “Justikar” Fînrandir I was living in San Diego when "a social grace" was released. ( I graduated in '87) ran across these guys at a local join called the "soma". yeah he was in the wheel chair even then. shreds that guitar though. sems I recall him or another member of the band working at a record store called "blue meenies"
That's Dan Rock.He had an accident. If I remember right he fell off something. I remember my cousin Mike telling me some story about stealing a sign from the side of thetaod that said Falling Rock. My cousin did all the artwork for a Social Grace and more
If one likes very much more simple and heavy classic-style early "prog metal", no problem, but it's a totally different music of DT, nothing to do, so don't compare directly like it would male really sense, because it doesn't at all. P.S. - Then, to say the whole thing, a band such Iron Maiden even in their debut album, was very much more prog (in certain song in particular), "avant-garde" etc. than Fates Warning or Queensryche and similiar years later... it's crystal clear. In fact, IM are one of the tens or hundred influences of DT, much more than FT or Q, whose early albums was really classic heavy-power US, but also the later albums have nothing to do with DT style and music (and remember againg that DT formed in '85 and recorded many songs for the first album in '88).
kotsirasss???!!!
It's obvious that this song was the template for Metallicas Nothing else Matters in many parts.
Ummm...I doubt it
Put Dream Theater to shame.
you are an idiot
Nope.
