    If you were to do them in silver you wouldn’t get the same look right? Can you only patina copper?

    • @GomeowCreations

      You can add a patina to silver as well it just turns to black or rainbow.

      Great video as usual! Would the matte black stay matte using a matte lacquer? I really liked the matte look. Also, brass won’t oxidize with liver of sulphur?

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The brass does a little in the LOS but not much. I woul think if you used a matte coating it would keep the black matte longer but idk to be honest.

      If you wear a copper item long enough your body will get used to the release of the copper oils and start to absorb it and that's when the healing begins thank you..

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah you can really do it any way you like. I like to hammer first because hammering does change the shape and size of the ring. I don't want to deal with it becoming the wrong size so I just do all the work before hand.

    Should you anneal the ring before you flare the ring or is it ok if it is work hardened?

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you can anneal it it would make it easier and it will lower the risk of cracks in the metal.

    • @mariopineda3741
      @mariopineda3741 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GomeowCreations If one would anneal the ring before flaring it, then the finished ring would be "soft". Would that be a problem?

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Flaring it will work harden it but you can also throw it into a tumbler to harden it.

    What's the second hole on the Spinner Ring Maker for?

  • @flyingcheff
    @flyingcheff 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Didn't Jeff Fulkerson invent that first? Maybe he had Fretz do it. It's cool. Oh, dearest, you need a shear, that filing everything straight in the vise - ack!

    • @GomeowCreations

    • @flyingcheff
      @flyingcheff 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GomeowCreations Oh, sorry. I just thought it's a lot of work to even up the end of the ring with the vise when you could use a shear, but then you'd need a guillotine shear with the brace to make sure trimming the end of the ring was a perfect 90 degrees. That's all. Just finding ease for us all. You are good at what you do, and quite the pro! Love your videos. I subscribe, always try to comment (that helps right?), and use your links. I saw a tool very similar in a LJJA magazine article/tutorial that Jeff Fulkerson invented - at least it said he did. I think maybe he had it made and promoted by Bill Fretz. Who knows these days, so many great tools coming out! I've got three myself coming out with Eurtool shortly, and already wanted by Rio so I've heard! I'm excited.

    y not just buy copper piping different sizes

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because that is not the point of the video for one. It's to show how to make them so you can do this with whatever metal you like. Also from what I know of you can't really get pipe in the right sizes to make rings. If you have a ring stretcher you can make that work it hammer them a lot. 😅
