- I catch my personal best native brook trout while exploring the higher elevations of the Nantahala National Forest during the late summer months. What a great time to explore new water and this was a special day that I will not soon forget!
That was a nice native! I've pulled a few whoppers like that myself in the Pisgah all from very small streams. Amazing how they thrive in those smaller pools. Beautiful fish and awesome video!
Thank you! I agree-it’s always a pleasant surprise to pull a bigger fish out of some of the tiniest streams! So cool how they survive and thrive in such small water.
Great video
Thank you!
Really enjoying your videos. Great work
Thanks so much! Thank you for taking time to watch!
Pretty sure i know that creek and its one of my favs! Glad you made it back after last time and got into some brookie action! Keep em coming !
Might be one of my new favs as well! Thanks so much for watching!
Nice job! I fished this area at the end of August. I think it was a little too warm at the time. That terrain is tough to fish, but beautiful. How long is that rod?
Thank you! You’re right-it takes some work to fish up through there but is absolutely gorgeous. I was using a 7’ 6” 3wt rod that day. I know some people go even shorter for those tiny streams but I’ve been very happy with that size. Thanks for watching!
@@ColbertOutdoors that's the same size I used. That Brookie you caught will give me hope next time I'm trying to climb through those rhododendrons!
