Nope, completely different landmass, not even subterranean connections.

Noodles Look it up Oceania is Australia and New Zealand are now both on Oceania witch used to just be called Australia
It was actually Australasia, but a continent is defined as a continuous expanse of land, so they are not part of the same continent.

i remember in one podcast, gavin asked chris if he is just like a generally confused person. and after listening to a couple of other podcasts with chris in them, everytime he tries to explain something or tells a story, he just sounds confused

No, only the landmass is. Once you open it up to the neighbouring islands and waters, it becomes Sealandia, Oceania, or Australasia.

Technically New Zealand is in Australia, the continent, she could have been referring to that. Kind of like how the US is in North America. Same concept

I don't know when we forgot about basic geography but there are 7 continents. North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and Antarctica. Sure they may want to be called a part of their own made up continent but to actual geography New Zealand is definitely a part of Australia
There is no rule that states what a continent is or how many of them there are - Why are Europe and Asia separate? Is America 2 continents or 1? What about islands, is Britain part of Europe? It's not as simple as saying "that is a continent, that is another one, etc". Australia, the continent, doesn't even consist of New Zealand anyway, as the other guy said, but to simplify things either Oceania or Australasia are used to include other islands into a continent, although for some reason they still call it Australia rather than using the name of the region which is used. Google "Australia continent" and you'll see that New Zealand isn't part of a it.

Who the fuck are you to act all big about this? You've not given any proof of what you've said. For a start, if there are rules then why are there so many different models of continents? Google it and you'll even see that New Zealand isn't part of a continent anyway, it's a pair of islands separate from a continent. Also, you can't define continents by being on the same tectonic plate because the idea of continents precedes the acceptance of tectonic plates and continental drift by millennia, and regardless it would mean that Eurasia would be a continent, part of Eastern Russia would be on the North American continent, India would have it's own continent and the same for Arabia. Give me some proper evidence before you reply.

All of Chris' stories sound like lies to me, he always gets shaky on details when they are asked for. Like he thought up the general story as a good way to make him sound interesting but then gets embarrassed and shaky about the details.
