That shirt you don’t feel 100% comfortable with would be so cute with that pleated skirt! Just tuck it in the skirt!! I love trying to pair random items of my clothes with ones that I haven’t worn them with!
probably about 90% of my wardrobe comes from charity shops. I find 5 basic benefits from charity shopping (most of which I assume you already know, but I like to go on about them anyway): 1. things are *way* cheaper. 2. you will be wearing something unique. 3. finding things you like and that work well together is an adventure. 4. clothing in charity shops, while secondhand, is often of really great quality and will last a long time. 5. your money is going to a good cause! (my two favorite charity stores seek to end homelessness and support those with HIV and AIDS). All that said, I haven't been shopping in a while because I don't really have the money as a uni student and I find that what I have in my closet right now is enough for me.
I'd love to see a video about your clear out! What you're getting rid of, what you're keeping, why, etc. I've seen them on other channels and they're super fun to watch!
Charity shop shopping is like a rollercoaster. The ups of finding amazing items and then the downs of said items not being your size. But when you find that one perfect item in your size and it fits like it was made for you. ** SWOON**
As a charity shop volunteer, i spend most of my money in my charity shop! I often get brand new things for a fraction of the price. Love this video and your style Hannah! xx
I was absolutely buzzing for this video because so much of my clothes shopping is done in charity shops!! I love it because if you buy something and end up not liking it or it doesn't fit or you have to do a wardrobe clear out and chuck it, at worst it ends up being just a donation to charity? There's no keeping stuff for the sake of it just because you spent loads of money on it! Also when you're done with it you just give it back to a charity shop and it's a nice cycle! Sort of like a library but with clothes!
I am trying to shop more ethically and sustainably, so I like to shop when I notice a wadrobe gap/need rather than for trend. I realized I prefer fewer items that I really love over quantity!
I haven't bought any new clothes in like 2 years, maybe 3. I like wearing the same things over and over! I'm glad people enjoy shopping in charity shops, when I get well meant but not my taste clothing as a gift I like to donate it so someone else can love it.
As a sustainable fashion advocate, I thank you for your service and for showing that second-hand shopping can be just as great as new (if not better - because you're saving stuff from landfill etc) 🙌
Yes, I love charity/thrift shops! I am so jealous of your ability to look rad in oranges and yellows. I love that mod plaid dress on you! It's the perfect fit! It would look cute with a long sleeve top under it but I think it looks cute just on it's own too!
You are so real and honest thats why people love you! I met you in the TH-cam space when you did the talk panel. Subed since then x Love charity shop clothes!
Nooooo I was so excited for that orange Velma dress! 😂😂😂 I absolutely love looking in the charity shops! I’ve got some amazing bargains. I just wish I could shop online though as it is quite time and energy consuming x
Love this video!! Especially how you didn’t take posing in the outfits too seriously haha. Hannah that plaid dress is stunning on you you should definitely wear it!
Charity shopping is my favourite way to shop now! It's addictive but I can't even feel bad about it because it's so cheap and I'm giving to charity. Plus I always find things I never would've bought otherwise, whether it's out of my comfort zone or price range. It gets me excited about fashion again!
TippityTopp I'm that person who will proudly brag about the prices on the items I have. "Can you guess how much this was" "uuuuhm, $50??" "Lol no, I'm cheap and it was $2." ALL THE TIME 😂😂
I really really love this video. I love to shop in thrift stores and this video is incredibly refreshing to me compared to the videos where people are constantly sharing the clothing they’ve purchased from ASOS and all that. Not that I find anything wrong with ASOS, but shopping second hand is far more sustainable and I love that you’ve made a video focused on it because that’s just right up my street. Also you’ve got some cute stuff!! I’m so shy about trying different stuff and often stick to boring & comfortable. I love all the yellows you’ve got going on - it really suits you!!
my fav outfits are charity shop old people button ups with dumb patterns and high waisted black jeans. that would be my cartoon character outfit. i love it. i found a brand new pair of vans in a charity shop for £8, never been so excited in my life!
You honestly look like you are feeling so much better and seeing you with sincere energy brings me joy. Glad you seem to be feeling healthier and happier!
I have a tip in case you are into older second hand clothes: Ask your relatives. A lot of old(er) women seem to keep all their clothes that they don't wear anymore and don't want to give to charity shops but if it stays in the family and they know who is wearing the clothes they are often quite delighted to find someone who can use them. I have a lot of dresses, skirts and blouses from my grandmas, my mum, my great grandma and about five aunties, the oldest blouse being almost 100 years old now. It's wonderful and almost everything fits me quite well because body form and height often runs in the family which is definitely a big bonus that I don't have when shopping.
I've noticed that too!! I have a friend who has thrown out all her clothes because she wants a new wardrobe... twice. To me that's just baffling, I can't afford that! I'm 27 and I've found that I'm more aware of what I like and what looks good on me so I find I'm shopping a lot less. Every week or so I might go shopping but I'll get one or two things and they are things I know will add to my existing wardrobe. I've been reading "the curated closet" and it's really helped me focus while shopping. I find I'm less likely to impulse buy and spend more time looking for something I really like, not a "trendy" piece. Now I'm not ready to try a capsule wardrobe or anything like that but the book has helped me figure out my style! Great video! Charity shops are so underrated too. I like shopping there but you definitely have to be in the right mindset to look though a lot to find something. So worth it though! Great video, glad you're back!
Desperately trying to pay attention to everything Hannah is saying ... but she's soooooooooooo pretty, and I love the 'clothes show' bits with the dancing. Totally brightens my day up!
And now to show I paid attention... I shop as seldom as possible for clothes. When I do it's with a firm idea of what I want, in, find something (or not and leave), try to be sure of fit (use the fitting room), buy or not, leave. But then I'm a mid-40s bloke who's most comfortable in jeans, t-shirt, jumper if weather demands (plus the obvious underwear and socks). Progress for me was actually buying non-plain T-shirts. This lead to some confusion on my part the first time wearing one with a design and text on it on the London Underground, wondering why several people had seemed to stare at me... then I realised they were reading the T-shirt!
love charity shop finds. I had the awesome denim jacket that I got for like two dollars, and I wore it constantly for years. I lost it in a supermarket, but It still felt awesome to be part of that random clothes lifecycle.
I agree with you, charity shops are such great resources and often they help a cause! In the last few years, I've started shopping at GoodWill and my mom also is there quite a bit, so I've acquired a ton of great clothes from pricier brands that I'd never just be able to go and buy (I'm a grad student with some debt, so gotta save those dollars). Stores like GoodWill are so great too because not only do I get clothes, but also things like DVDs and good condition books. Also people really love to donate Bath and Body Works and Body Shop products, so I have so many nice quality candles now, haha. Really love consignment stores.
I love to shop second hand in the U.S. - I have found everything from really nice winter coats, work clothes like dress pants, skirts, and blazers, to fun sweatshirts and tshirts. I feel like you can find really unique items on a budget. I mostly frequent Goodwill and Volunteers of America.
My wardrobe is like 85% charity shop/ second hand and I rarely shop new. I love charity shopping. So much better for the environment; gives to a good cause and it's so much fun! Much more likely to get unique outfits out of it too :).
You're the second person I've come across on the internet today talking about fab charity shop finds! Now I'm itching to get raiding some charity shops! x
One of my New Years resolutions were to only shop second hand or from charity shops because I think it’s a good way for me to help the environment. I don’t buy clothes a lot because I usually don’t like the things I find in shops so going for vintage or second hand makes more sense to me
I have a friend who buys ALL of her clothes secondhand, and she looks amazing. Her outfits make me feel so inspired to shop secondhand more often (as do yours). But there is one thing I will say about secondhand clothes shopping: It usually takes so much more time investment. There don't tend to be many things in my size, and when they are, they're not always in great shape. But if I can find that magical item that fits and looks good and is still in good shape....oh, the joy! As for my shopping habits, I have a pattern of only having two major shopping times per year, corresponding with U.S. holiday sales. I usually like to go over Memorial Day weekend to pick up a few new summer items on sale, and then I like to go over Labor Day weekend to pick up some fall/winter items on sale. (New Year's Day can also be nice for winter things on sale, but I haven't tended to get out and shop on that day.) Other than that, I might get a random thing a couple times a year, but usually only if there's something specific I need.
I'm bit obsessed with charity shops and I tend to get most complimented on things I got from charity shops. A highlight for me would be a brown jacket with deep pockets and loads of hand-stitched embrodiery (I paid £3, and then looked up the brand online and similar items were selling for 170 dollars) I was very smug when I found that out and I was convinced that I was a fashion genius. Loved the video Hannah!
Great video. I'm a complete charity shop and eBay queen. You used to be able to get nice vintage stuff in charity shops, but not so much these days because people are wise to the value. Years ago, I picked up a 1950s astrakhan coat for about a fiver.
So many cute things, I love them all!! I wore a pair of shorts yesterday that I got from a charity shop, they were originally big baggy high-waisted vintage mom jeans in this super garish pink and white checker print, but I cut and cuffed them into shorts. People always ask where they're from and get disappointed because they can't buy their own pair, kinda sad because they can't get them but great because it means I have a one-of-a-kind piece.
love it love it love it. so in support of promoting shopping in charity shops and helping people and things out and being sustainable and good. big up witton xx
I love shopping in charity shops. Three of my favourite jumpers I bought from charity shops and also one of my favourite jackets. Much like yourself I do also shop in high street shops but recently I find myself buying more clothes from charity shops than other shops.
I'd loved you came up with the idea of sharing a different haul to the usual ones we see here on TH-cam. Please continue being great and I hope you are feeling much better! Hugs x
I keep my wardrobe reeaaallly small (like two loads of laundry small) and buy mostly secondhand. The best part about this is that by the time I'm bored of a piece, I've worn it completely down and in every way imaginable, so it's an easy decision to recycle it and try something new!
I love charity shops! I volunteered in my most local one for a year and a half, including managing for six months. I always go in as its great! I just bought a lindy bop dress for less than £4!
My weight and body shape have changed drastically in the last year or so, so I'm having to change my wardrobe all the time. I have recently discovered charity shop shopping and it's great! So much going for it... Mostly I'm recycling things that might go to landfill... I'm buying things I can resell once they're too big... I'm trying new styles and colours I wouldn't normally buy at full price... I'm not giving my pennies to huge corporations.... Thank you for this inspiring video! You look fab and I love your style. Keep it up, from an ancient 48-year old! XXX
Love the plaid dress! I think you could wear it during any season. I'm like you I don't shop a lot. My favorite dress is from a second hand clothing boutique that sadly has now closed. I was so sad about that because a lot of my clothes were from that store. I mostly just shop for clothes to replace something that has worn out unless I receive a gift card.
After being enlightened about the fast fashion industry's negative effect on the environment I almost exclusively buy my clothing from op-shops (the exclusion being underwear). I also focus on buying cotton or wool items as opposed to synthetics as there's a huge issue with microfibres escaping from washing machines into the waterways (they're like microbeads in cosmetics - too small to be filtered by standard water treatment facilities). It does make it more challenging with regards to finding things that fit or compliment other garments but honestly that is what makes it more satisfying when I do actually find something worthwhile.
Chelsea, Notting Hill, Kensington, Hampstead, North Finchley, Watford, Camden, Highgate and Muswell hill are A M A Z I N G areas for charity shopping in London, the vintage shops in Camden are the best vintage shops ever. So people who visit London or Londoners, keep an eye out if you're in these areas ;).
So this week I was last minute able to go to the gym after work, and bought a really excellent plain black long sleeved tshirt in the tesco next to the gym. It's not too warm to work out in, and the sleeves are lovely and long. Thought of it immediately for going under that shift dress you showed. Mostly I buy no clothes at all and then eventually I get to the point of feeling like I have nothing to wear cos I wear the same 5 things all the time, and then eventually I'll shop randomly and on impulse over a couple of weeks or months, and then go back on a long no-shopping phase until it happens all over again.
Every time I'm in GB to visit my family it became a tradition to go hunting in charity shops. Tbh, around 70% is 2nd hand. Love charity shops. Unfortunately, in Germany nearly all second hand shops are overly priced. Not comparable to British ones. Just love watching you and your book is great
I love browsing charity shops. Especially when you find something amazing!! Also knowing that your money is going to a good cause is such an awesome feeling. Great video as always Hannah and I’m sure the mascara under brows trend will catch on 😉💕💜
About my shopping habits: Until the end of last year I shopped ALL. THE. DAMN. TIME. Always in the sales section of H&M or in chairty shops, so not that bad for my bank account. I would feel so bad if I didn't buy anything for a while, and it gave me a "kick" or a "high" everytime I came home with new items. The "high" didn't last long, and then I was off again... I became aware of all the negative aspects of fast fashion (and the clothing industry in general), and made it my new years resolution to not support fast fashion at all. I will not support an industy who uses child workers, letting people only earn a dollar a day, who destroys the enviroment with creating " new trends" all the time etc. Since the end of 2017 I have bought 2 pairs of pants, 1 dress, 1 cardigan and 1 sweatshirt in a chairy shop. All things quite formal, and that I needed for starting my new job. Then the beginning of march my father past away 💔, and I got a massive shopping crave (I don't comfort eat when I'm sad, I comfort shop) and I bought two sweaters from the H&M sales section. I'm honestly dissapointed in my self, but thinking back to last year, I bought clothes like 4 times a week (sometimes more. No joke) so the fact that I have only bought 7 items in total on almost 3 months is amazing. I did a clear out of my closet, and after donating two large bin bags to chairty, I counted over 100 pieces still being in my closet. That opened my eyes as well. I DON'T NEED THAT MUCH CLOTHES! This does not count socks, underwear, shoes or jackets. If I should include shoes and jackets I would be there for days, lol. Long story short: I had a shopping addiction and now I'm in rehab... I am really trying to help the planet.
don't feel bad! i feel like if a lot of your clothes are from charity shops, then there's nothing wrong with having a large amount of clothes - even if you don't really need that many. (although i totally get wanting to downsize/have less or doing a capsule wardrobe) just think of all the money that went to supporting good causes!
Awesome haul. You have a great eye for fashion and what looks good on you. I'm one of those guys that hardly ever goes clothes shopping. I have been to local charity shops a few times and found some items in great condition for ridiculously low prices. 👍
With your hair in a plait like this, you really remind me of Hermione/Emma Watson!! such a fab look on you gal x
Emily Blacknell yess I agree, at one point she whipped around and I was like "wow, that's her"
Emily Blacknell emma watson is cute so are you
I was going to say the exact same thing!
wow you are into the mascara under eyebrows trend too? sweet! more people should be doing it!
I do it everyday without fail lmao
😂😂
That shirt you don’t feel 100% comfortable with would be so cute with that pleated skirt! Just tuck it in the skirt!! I love trying to pair random items of my clothes with ones that I haven’t worn them with!
i agree! or maybe a shift/pinafore dress!
probably about 90% of my wardrobe comes from charity shops. I LOVE LOVE LOVE charity shop "hauls" and stuff ! It's awesome that you get to show ethical and ecofriendly ways to find awesome clothes !
I'm in love with that 60's style dress!
Sian Lake it's honestly gorgeous and 100% something I'd wear - reminded me I should find the time to get to my local charity shops soon 😊
I'd love to see a video about your clear out! What you're getting rid of, what you're keeping, why, etc. I've seen them on other channels and they're super fun to watch!

hannah trying on the shrinked orange dress is me trying to fit boys into my obnoxiously high standards 😂
Try maternity jeans! basically just jeans with stretchy fabric around the waist which might work for you :)
I could imagine charity shops having a lot of maternity jeans as well
Sustainable fashion 🌍🌎🌏✌🏻💚💚💚💚
Jenny Pearson The best kind of fashion 👌🏻💚
“How do you have time to WEAR all of those clothes?!” Such a Hermione thing to say 😂 love this stuff Hannah keep it up!

even the intonation sounded like Hermione!

omg that orange jacket with that skirt is such a DREAM OUTFIT!!!
I have also been loving mid-length skirts at the moment! Especially for work, they're so cute, flattering and comfortable.
Why do you buy a winter dress when it's coming on spring? Because you live in England. Source: I do the same.

Hola! si alguien quiere saber de las charity shops en ESPAÑOL yo tengo un video :)
Yes, I love charity/thrift shops! I am so jealous of your ability to look rad in oranges and yellows. I love that mod plaid dress on you! It's the perfect fit! It would look cute with a long sleeve top under it but I think it looks cute just on it's own too!
I work in a charity shop and I love it so much and it also helps being able to get first pick of clothes which is nice.
The 60's kinda' dress with the squares looks marvelous on you. It suits you so well
You are so real and honest thats why people love you! I met you in the TH-cam space when you did the talk panel. Subed since then x Love charity shop clothes!

Honestly when you do your wardrobe clear out, You should make a depop or etsy and sell the clothes cause you have the cutest style omg
The black dress with the red belt looked reeaaally good 😱

My trick for the detached cuff... Iron-on patch on the inside of the sleeve. It's not a forever fix, but it helps prevent extra damage for a while.
My mum and I are always at charity shops and some of our favourite clothes are from them! You can get such great stuff for a really good price!
You rock those yellows/oranges, dang. Brighter than the sun and so cool.
That white jacket... oh wow, GORGEOUS!!
That 60s dress is the best I've ever seen.
I'm bit obsessed with charity shops and I tend to get most complimented on things I got from charity shops. this was glorious, charity shops for PM. Also going away now to GIF you trying to get in to that shrunken sweater dress
hannah you look gorgeous in literally EVERYTHING!!!!! how????xxx
I really love that checkered dress with the pockets! It looks v good on you
You look confident in what ever style you dress and ever if from a charity shop or designer doesn't matter either.
Please film the wardrobe clear out!! Love organisational vids like that and decluttering is my jam!
Dresses with pockets are the best ❤️
Love your style and also love the fact that you are so confident!
0:34 ... ' i just feel so smug' hahaha i love you
Oh the yellow skirt! Love it!
pleeeeeease make a video on which are your fave charity shops youve been to!!!
I have no idea how, but this is the most delightful and relatable video I’ve ever seen on TH-cam! xx
I keep my wardrobe reeaaallly small (like two loads of laundry small) and buy mostly secondhand. The best part about this is that by the time I'm bored of a piece, I've worn it completely down and in every way imaginable, so it's an easy decision to recycle it and try something new!
Love charity shops! You always find cool stuff for great prices and help people out, it's a win win!
I love charity shops! I volunteered in my most local one for a year and a half, including managing for six months. I always go in as its great! I just bought a lindy bop dress for less than £4!
I LOVE the gingham dress. I wish I could find more clothes like that.

I really like the 60's "out of your comfort zone" dress on you!
I loved the white shirt with the striped collar and sleeve cuffs
Great video! I’ve learned to shop in second hand stores as well. It’s great!
The clip of you trying on the shrunk dress made me chuckle.
Aww the 60's style dress is awesome!
It does make it more challenging with regards to finding things that fit or compliment other garments but honestly that is what makes it more satisfying when I do actually find something worthwhile.
the orange jacket!! the best!
Love this!! I mostly shop at consignment stores and vintage stores now too- it helps with body image issues & being curvy I find as well!
Loved seeing Hannah try on that last dress that shrunk in the wash! So amusing hahaha especially with the voiceover. What a shame! It looks so cute
Great video as always Hannah and I’m sure the mascara under brows trend will catch on 😉💕💜
Hannah Witton Most definitely. It’ll be the big trend of 2018 #trendsetter 😎
Love the 60's style dress, wow!
Gotta love a charity shop find
love that you're promoting sustainable fashion!! (:
That romper is so cute!!! I loved this video! I also love a good wardrobe clear out
Very Grovey Man!
Love the 60's outfits.
About my shopping habits:
Until the end of last year I shopped ALL. THE. DAMN.
You look so much healthier and im so happy for you!
I loved all of these clothes! Seriously wish we had some good charity shops in my town, but they are seriously awful and smell weird hahaha
Awesome haul. You have a great eye for fashion and what looks good on you.
I'm one of those guys that hardly ever goes clothes shopping. I have been to local charity shops a few times and found some items in great condition for ridiculously low prices. 👍
that 60s style dress looks amazing on you!
The white tshirt is so cute! Alsooo WOOHOO WEEKLY VIDS AGAIN I'm glad you feel better Hannah 💕
edit: the black top at the end is really cute too
