there are some flexibility in language, and you dont have much of understanding in korean. moreover people dont say like '박찬열친구' when they are meaning '박찬열, friend of mine'. if there is '친구' following right after someone's fullname, it is connotating a personal distance between the speaker and the one whose name was called. enough to grasp?

Sometimes, we refer to people, strangers even, as 친구 or "friend" just to show a common respect to the person, instead of saying 저 사람 or "that person".
