Beautiful! Watching the scenes unfold of Mary holding her son made me think of when my son was born. I remember holding him and thinking what a miracle I had in my hands... Now I'm thinking of how Mary must have felt knowing that her child...the baby she lovingly held in her hands...that sweet and precious child was going to grow up to save the world as God's son...Now that WAS a miracle! It gives me chills and puts a lump in my throat at the same time...What faith Mary and Joseph had...!
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (December 25, Christmas Day), I played this in response to our New Testament Lesson (or Epistle) of the Day, which was Hebrews 1:1-12. It is #296 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship. And I hope that everyone reading this is having a Merry Christmas.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Last night, we sang this after the offering had been received. Just thought I'd share. Hope everybody reading this had a Merry Christmas.
I've watched this video every Christmas Eve since 2013, and each year the recording sounds just as stirring as it did the first time I heard it. Merry Christmas!
Redeemer, I love you. I rest in You all the days in my life. May I never lose appreciation for the the atoning sacrifice You were. You shed Your blood so that I might have life. Praise the Christ!
Yes, I've noticed that too, people say Happy Holidays now and not Merry Christmas, Its like we've all forgotten what this time of year is all about. Time for people to remember what its all about. Merry CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Marian is the Queen of Mercy. She is our life, our sweetness, and our hope. She suffers for us even though she is in Heaven. Thank you Mary, we love you and respect you so much.
I care, I have never gotten close to one of my grandmas. She died and I still felt sorrow. I cried with my mom all night. My other grandmother, who raised me. I haven't seen or made contact with for a few years now. I can only pray that she is doing fine. It's hard living in such a spread out family. You never get to see some of the great people you are related to.
@chipwichchick Depends on context. 'Merry Christmas' is fine if you've reason to be confident that the other person celebrates Christmas. Not many people will get that worked up about if even if you're not sure. I still prefer 'Happy Holidays' when I think there's a good chance that the people I'm speaking to don't celebrate Christmas but I use 'Merry Christmas' too.
You are correct in that aspect, with the multi-religions, but it feels like years since I've heard anyone (on television, the radio, etc.) say the words "Merry Christmas". And while it may be due to THE FACT that there are a growing number of non-christians in our communities and the media is simply catering to a wider audience, it just feels as if people have truly forgotten what a real Christmas is.

I'm sorry to see your words. Einstien was a theist. He said "The more I delve into the sciences the more I realize that there is a Supreme Being who created this for our discovery". Merry Christmas.

Christmas actually started out as a Pagan holiday of the early Germanic people, but I do agree that this song is very pretty.
