Always really liked Mat Irvine! I'm in my 50s now but when I was a child I wrote to him! I just sent it to the bbc, and he actually did write back to me! What a guy!!l I told how I wanted to get into special effects! And he told me what I would need to know, what skills I would need etc. He even sent an advert cut out of a newspaper about jobs in special effects.

Just saw Mat Irvine at Wonderfest 2018. Very entertaining and edifying presentation!
It was so nice to hear the history and stories of the BBC. I am so glad I got to meet him. He was also at the Chesley Bonestell documentary presentation.

Matt always was so enthusiastic about model making. Never had enough time or money on
His projects: but what he did have was genuine

Excellent conversation! This is a great series to go with FSM. Mat Irvine just seems like someone you wind up and let him go. I'll bet there was much more he would have talked about given the time. He is a very interesting person.

Loved the discussion on.... "The model stash". That is a subject close to my heart as I have 160 in my own. Why do we modellers have the habit of buying more model kits than we build. It all ends up as loft insulation... despite the promise we make to ourselves that we will build each and every one of them. Having said that... I have at least 10 more models on my bucket list to buy.

Aaron....Could *you* ever have imagined back in the 80's when we were building models under your parents house, that one day you would be working at FSM and getting paid to build models? :-)

So the moon landing photos were fake!!!! 👏👏👏👏 Dear Mat... If I bring you a giant box of cakes, any chance I could sit quietly on a box in the corner of your workshop and watch you work for an hour please?.. You can come to mine any time. Best wishes from me (and all the mice in the workshop) 🐀🐀🐀
