Damn. Yall got me with this one…. My dad caused me so much PTSD. I was 7 years old and sadly I was there the night my dad was raged out on drugs and abused both me and my mom…. I won’t go into detail but there was so much noise that the neighbors had no choice but to contact the police. And because of that he served 10 years and got deported.
15 years later I forgave him for the sake of my own sanity. The wounds aren’t gone but I can definitely say they’ve been stitched up and made me a better person. Appreciate you guys being so vulnerable.

Had to stop the video real quick just to comment this: that mom part hits deep, like I don’t have my mom bc she passed away when I was a kid but I was raised by my grandma in Mexico, and any time I would leave for school, mi amá se levantaba para darme la bendición (had to say that in spanish bc it hits different lol) and I would leave before 6 am and she had no need to do that but she always would, and I’m not even religious but I miss that all the time, I love that woman with all my heart, thank you guys for starting this podcast, it’s so relatable and brings back great memories, wishing y’all the best, keep up the good work

Damn .. where do I start? I grew up with my dad (step dad) from the age of 4. At that time I didn’t really think much of it. I would visit my biological father during the summer, but mainly because I was forced to until I was old enough to understand. Fast forward to my last relationship I got with a girl who had a 2 year old boy. I grew such an amazing bond with him, I saw him like my own son and him not having his biological dad in his life I knew I wanted to step up. Not because I had to, but because I wanted to. We’ve been separated for a little over a year now, but I still continue to raise him. He continues to call me daddy and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for him. God bless his mom for allowing him to be in my life. He’s turning 5 this year and I just hope he understands how much I love him. Idk if it’s the fact that I don’t have my real dad in my life, but it’s something I would change. God bless yall🙏🏽❤️

Ay man much love to you guys for speaking of your dads. I didn’t grow up with a dad. I would have brief conversations with him growing up that lasted no more than 5 minutes. Saw him a couple times but nothing more. Then he vanished. Now that I’ve finished college and have a stable good job he calls me saying “I heard you make good money now” …he called me twice already this past week and it’s hard to pick up the phone since if feels like he only calls bc my mom raised me right. And that I got a diploma. Why wasn’t he there when I was a kid? It’s tough talking to him, but all in all thanks for sharing your story.

It really gives me something to look up too or faith see y’all growing up as I did really gives me comfort that it’s going to be okay. Been watching you guys for a minute and the content is getting better. I like the podcast and hopefully it begins to grow. I think you guys do need to get into the social aspects of being latino. The general negative stereotypes that latino men have compared to other races. The lack of latino men in entertainment and social media and here's one for Felipe and Brandon, to speak about how listening to Mexican music now is different from 15-20 years ago and how we as mexicans, were made fun of if we listened to Chalino, to Banda, to valentin elizalde and were forced to listen to hip hop and dress in that style and how it's different now. Sorry Diego, I don't think you can relate to the last topic but I would like to hear your perspectives on these topics and yes I'm an old head 40 to be exact. Stay changing the game for us latinos that didn't have a platform

My mom and biological father split up when I was 2, and had a stepfather ever since that I call my dad, So I never really had the urge to know who he was. I am 31 years old now and have 3 children,I had my first son seven years ago and the first thing that came on my mind when my son was born was,how could a man leave the most beautiful thing in the world their own flesh and blood. So now that I have my kids, it has hit me harder because I think to myself, if I love my kids this much and will do anything for them, Why couldn’t my dad stick around for me. I still wonder from time to time if I have other siblings or even just want to know how he actually looks since I’ve never seen him. I keep thinking and wondering if I have his facial features and if those feature are the same ones I passed on to my children.😢it sucked but trauma like this I feel will never go away, you end up just suppressing it

Yo on last weeks pod I can agree with Felipito about the milk in the eye. I had a similar story when I was young. My ear was like clogged, and it hurt bad, so my aunt used her breast milk and put a few drops in my ear, and in a few minutes I was better. That milk does miracles 😂

Good podcast brothas, feels like a therapy sesh (NEVER been ) but it’s a good place para sacar las penas y logros, I know a lot of can relate w/o having a real father but hey look at us WERE still thriving and surving, iv learned regardless of my fathers choices , forgiveness will always be in my heart, but yeah it does suck the only way ur children will see their grandpa is thru pictures .. BUT everything happens for a reason , GOD BLESS🙏🏽
