  • HELP US ON THE ROAD TO 300 SUBSCRIBERS. Thanks!!!!
This video captures my very first experience with FujiNet, specially one made for the Apple 2 series of computers. This might the most unique and fun new retro device I had tried!

Another cool feature is loading from SMB or FTP shares - you can load images straight from the Asimov archive, for example, and boot straight to the FujiNet!

I did not see anything about mounting disks from SMB or FTP. I need to go back and look into that. Loading from Asimov would be really nice. I was planning on mirroring Asimov locally and then using the TNFS server to make those images available to the Apple. Being able to do that directly from FJN would be cool.

@@8BitDoodads-sm6tj Yeah, I was pretty surprised/impressed when I read/found that out. The host entry can only be ~30 characters (maybe 32), so you can't pre-navigate too many levels, but I demoed both SMB and FTP loading (the latter from Asimov) at WOzFest 37 last weekend. I haven't yet tested loading speed on, say, a 32MB image on SMB vs TNFS vs FTP (all local when testing, of course).

Thanks for the feedback. This was the most unique new/retro device I have laid my hands on in a long while. Looking forward to exploring all of its features more in depth in later videos.

Glad to do it. This was my first experience with FujiNet and it was very nice. I am already learning a lot about my assumptions and how to go about further testing and usage of FJN for the Apple. We also expect to explore the Atari and Commodore (Meatloaf) versions in the new year.

Are you loading the Disk II image (i.e. emulating Disk II drive/s) while your Yellowstone card is in SmartPort mode?

I was pretty sure I was loading PO images in Smartport slots. I have gotten a lot of feedback here and in other channels that I should check my setup and do some benchmarks which I am going to do for the next video on this great option for our 8bit machines.
