Thanks for the video. Stuck in the house down by Houston. Down here if it freezes, the whole town shuts down. You have the best and only detailed kitfox build. Your videos will be on you tube for decades…
Hello @whudman, there is definitely a bit of a cold snap gripping the states at the moment. A great time to crank up the heater, work in the garage and listen to the wind howl outside! I hope you don’t have any issues down there. Thanks for the comments about the videos, that was what sparked the idea in the first place. I saw a lot of time lapse builds but nothing that focused on the details… and failures along the way. I know some of them are long but I’m hoping it will help people who do not know what is entailed to see if this process fits within their skill set or not. Thanks for the comment and stay warm. Matt
Hi Matt, I'm up to almost exactly where you are in my build. I've found your videos extremely helpful, thanks for publishing them! I've gone back and forth on my floorboard attachment method and just this weekend decided that I'm going to do rivnuts. I bought the Doyle kit from Harbor Freight and an 8-32 and 10-32 mandrel and rivnuts from Amazon. I went with steel so that they match the frame material and are stronger on the threads than aluminum or SS. I will back them up with hysol so they don't spin. I did some reading on the forum and it looks like Josh Esser and a few others were successful with them. Also, Bryan Bowen used them for his doors so that you don't have to put a nut on the inside of the frames. His video inspired me to bite the bullet on the method.
Hello @damienradford7143, I’m glad you have found the videos to be helpful and hopefully a little humorous at times. Some folks don’t always appreciate he dryness of if. I’m going to have to go check out Bryan Bowen’s video. I should have bought the tool also when I was initially playing around with them. Sometimes I try and cut corners where I shouldn’t. I just made a note of the tool you purchased since I was actually looking at one from Marson (39315). And since I’m coming up on the doors I’m sure there is something for me to learn before I make another mistake. Personally I think if they can be installed and do not spin they make for adding access to an area that may need to get inspected later easier to access. I think 7KiloFox mentioned something about this also when it comes to installing the floor in the cargo compartment. Thanks for the good information and happy building. Matt
Affirmative Sir, I just about started on the doors… but found out I needed a tool so I skipped them for the moment. Tool is the purchase list. Once I get these last few steps completed I suppose I’ll be moving on to the wings. Maybe I’m closer than I think to covering! Again, thanks for the comments. Matt

Doors, Rudder assembly, and vertical stabilizer. Almost done with fuselage.
