At the time this aired, our beloved father had died about seven months earlier. Hearing the dialogue between John Noble and Joshua Jackson reminded me of the priceless relationship I enjoyed with our dear father and I burst into tears, couldn't stop. At times like this the rare alchemy of writing and acting together and a TV show ceases to be mere entertainment - even art, but touches our hearts and minds and leaves their mark on us. Kudos and thanks!

Coalcracker29 anthracite I have an different understanding of my father, but this still has the same effect on me. I think that the different interpretations of meaning can still mean the same. I wish I had some sort of moment with my father, but I respect it all the same. Bursting into tears. I hope you’re doing well. But seeing what could have been is still a joyful moment to see. And yes, it is the best show ever.

I am not an emotional man. But this scene between father and son always makes me tear-up no matter how hard I try not to. So rare to see media show an openly loving father/son relationship.

Goddamnit, this show never ceases to come up with moments that tug at the heartstrings...even 9 years after it finished. That's quality!

GAH thinking of what we had to go through to get to this makes me cry. These two were always the part of the show that could make me cry.

it's very interesting to me that an "un- son" shows an "un- father" that life is about this unexplainable love between parent and child. i like the circles they make in fringe. i wish it didnt have to end.

OK, so.. I haven't watched season 5 yet and am still sort of hesitant about the direction FRINGE has taken with the Amber!Verse. But this moment kind of restored my faith and reminded me of why I fell in love with the show in the first place.
