It's only that way because Atlantic Records owns the album not Smile Empty Soul. That's why it's not on there list of albums, but it's on Atlantic records page but F giving them views.
cherish the fact that this album isnt mainstream. we're the lucky few. I love music that isnt mainstream. It gives it a sense of rarity. A chosen few..
There are very few albums that helped me through my childhood and this one the biggest one for me. Sitting there, day and night, just listening to the words and figuring out their meanings... Music really can make a impact on a broken soul. Hope everyone that ever needed to just sink in yourself and feel the power of any albums, like this one, has pushed their way through the bs and see the beauty of life. :)
I remember listening to this when I was 13. The crazy thing is that they had like a 6 album deal. The label shelved their 2nd album and dropped them because the Christian Coalition said they would boycott the label. Sean refused to change the lyrics. That's his art. I don't blame him for not giving into censorship, even if that means a large amount of money.
As a person who went thru a lot of abuse and weird addiction shit this band really helped me understand I wasn’t alone and to get some help. Luckily I’m a lot better in life, haven’t listened to this album in a decade and it literally saved my life.
Still as relevant as ever man I’ve missed this album. it helped me understand feelings and express opinions through such a beautiful grunge sound just letting go and knowing I’m not alone...I’m sad I have to resort to listening on TH-cam again but it’s nostalgic; if these money hungry labels weren’t so fucked I could enjoy this on Apple Music but noooo
I was in college when this album came out. I still listen to it and it always brings me right back. Makes me wish I could go back and re-live it all again!!
I’m 33, saw them live in Nashville Tn at a small show when I was 17. Fly leaf was the opener and no one knew who they were but loved them. Smile empty soul was next and were absolutely amazing. Last was Cold. Was the best concert experience I had ever had, got to meet Scooter in the back of the building and he was totally cool and sighed my hat. The members of smile empty soul trashed the room in the back of the building and were upset about something but I could never understand what. Or maybe they were just drunk I have no idea. But I saw it happen! Lol
Sean played at a small bar in Alabama total of thirty people I swear I freaked ! An acoustical evening with Smile Empty Soul was the name of the show. Happens to be my favorite band ever so you could imagine my total freaked outness! No problem getting a front row seat all I had to do is slide my chair up he was tossing me pics did is on merchandise after the show only had him in a bass player he played the drum with his foot uncovered the t-shirts and opened the money box I was freaking out he said what can I help you with I asked him if he would sign my guitar he said if you'll buy shirt I will I love Sean danielsen Smile Empty Soul Is Awesome!
It’s almost 4 am in May of 2024 and I still come back to this album every time insomnia is getting the best of me. Always does the trick. It brings me comfort, which eventually brings me sleep.
@@williamkaneI was around 22 when it came out war was one of my favorites I didn't know it at the time that a few years later I would end up joining the Army and become an Infantryman. But I did end up getting to see some far away places in the world But I forgot all about smile empty soul while in..I don't ever remember listening to it or hearing any of my bros listening to it Forgot all about it til now crazy how some things fade away in time that you once loved
I was 17 when I heard bottom of a bottle on the radio. Picked up the copy cd next day! One of the most listened to albums I ever had. The entire album is good especially all my problems at the end! For some reason this and 3days grace was my women, booze and heartbreak music!!! Love SES! IN TIMES OF BROKEN LIES! LETS GO BRANDON!!!
Hands down..one of the best albums of all time 💥 every single track is a masterpiece. These songs take me back to very hurtful and confusing times.. also some of the greatest.. and for some reason I love reliving all those crazy emotions🖤
Its because Atlantic Records owns the album not Smile Empty Soul. If SES puts it on any platform they can be sued by Atlantic since they own the rights. I'm really surprised its here even, but only probably because Atlantic Records isnt aware its here.
They have released newer versions of some of the songs from this album. They play them in a different key to get around copyright laws. Spotify has the rarities album with some of then on it.
I played this album on repeat as a teenager. I'm 37 and playing this album on repeat! Life happened, and I didn't think about them up until about a year ago when i heard "bottom of a bottle" and i was like holy shit! About a 20 year gap, lol
Just remembered having this album, can't believe it's not on Spotify or anything thanks for the upload! Haven't heard these songs in 10 years but still remember all the songs
I first heard of these guys from a 4 wheeling game on PS2 back in 2003. This album just blew me away. From start to finish damn near every song is good. I saw them at the Masquerade in Atlanta that same year and they opened up for Trapt. Trapt was a one hit wonder that had that song called Headstrong that everybody liked. Smile Empty Soul crushed it that night. I was really impressed. After they finished their set my friends and I got up and proceeded to the exits. People were stunned that we were leaving before headliner. We told them that Smile Empty Soul WAS the headliner. None of us gave a shit about Trapt. Their music sucked.
Wow I forgot all about this band and this amazing album takes me way back its insane how quickly 26 years passes by Seems like it was yesterday but sure aF wasn't...totally different shitty world now.
Fell in love with it at 24. Still in love with it at 44. Like many, it helped me get through a lot. Lyrically, this is in my top 20 all-time. It's a shame more people don't know about this album.

Yeah that's why I'm here lol I'm super excited too. I just got tickets to see them in October. It's been like over 20 years. 😮
Copyright issue. Not even the band owns the rights to this album anymore or something like that.
i have a physical copy signed. i was a real fan...
2024 and still rocking this album!
I loved this album as a high schooler when it came out. At 37 now, I still love it and appreciate it more and more.
Came here to say this. 🖤
can't believe how underground this is. wish it was on pandora! I know every single word to every song on this album. such a masterpiece.

They're not underground. Their fucking label stole their music.
Silhouettes can still move me to tears 20 years later. Entire album holds up even in 2022
Same!
I’ll be 54 and I can so relate to this lonely space called 🌎
An album that helps define what my youth and adulthood have accumulated to. An album I'll always cherish that means the world to me

@@KitchenDog03 not to my knowledge. just saw it on mtv a lot when it dropped…my guy
This is definitely mainstream. Thats how I found it in 2004.

I concur my good sir.

This band should have berth bigger this cd ment so much to me when i was a teen out came out in a really hard time in my life.

Why is this album on no music listening platform? Really makes me sad I can find it only on youtube.
