It’s wild to think that it was Giyu’s mercy that he showed to Tanjiro and Nezuko that day that gave the Demonslayers their best chance to defeat Muzan for good. Not his skill with a sword, but his compassion and restraint.
The gesture Nezuko makes after she kicks Tanjiro off is the same gesture that Inosuke makes to display the Demon Slayer rank markings back in Season 2. It might just be a coincidence and all she's doing is raising a clenched fist but I've always interpreted it as Nezuko making that gesture to remind him that their duty as Demon Slayers comes first and to make sure he honors her decision to prioritize protecting others and stopping an Upper Moon over her own life.

Two things people don't notice about the scene with Nezuko being fine: -This was the first time in about 3 years that Tanjiro heard Nezuko talk -Genya said "Good for you Tanjiro", because his own siblings died and his older brother doesn't speak to him. This was such MASTERPIECE! I love the connections in major developments, especially Nezuko & Muzan's goal, also how Hantengu represented a generational frustration from victims & the Demon Slayer corp (not just viewers) and now finally they're being purnished and Tanjiro did it with the first breathing swordsman sword (Perfect).
“Guys if they killed Nezuko, I think I would riot.” Haha, same… and I probably would have quit the show. When I first saw this, it was hard to concentrate on Tanjiro’s final attack on Fear-Hantengu because all my thoughts were on Nezuko. The kill was both dramatic and understated. I was glad Hantengu didn’t have a sad back story.
Also to highlight here...many people try to defend Hantengu portraying he had multiple personality disorder when he was a human....NO SIR... He was a liar to the core, he lied so much that he changed his name from time to time switching areas and relocating, as he committed murders and thefts under the pretence of being innocent and self-defense. He also had many wives that he buried by this own hands... He was a Scum before and his pretences manifested as personality demons when he turned into one....
Sun-breathing is the progenitor of all breathing styles (Thunder, Air, Water, Flame, Stone...etc) these breathing styles were developed according to personal preferences by the Demon Slayers throughout history as they were not suited to the OG breathing style that was weilded by none other than Yorichii... So Tanjiro doing Thunder-breathing mixed with his Hinokami style is basically an explanation to it...

oh my god I was going to stop watching this anime I seriously thought we lost Nezuko and the amount of tears and sadness when Nezuko kicked Tenjiro while she was smiling and of course Muzan the permanent dream of vampires Walking under the sun
The greatest finale! So much amazing content in the episode. The climax of Nezuko's arc here is beautiful, and finally being able to take down Hantengu was immensely satisfying. Really enjoyed how he contrasted our main cast here. And I always enjoy any time the show gives us Muzan screen time. Excited for S4. Thanks for the continued fantastic reactions!
It was great watching season 3 with you. I love the character development for muichiro and genya, it was nice to see them take the spotlight and tanjiro grow and reach the next level. Last episode was so emotional specially with the song and flashbacks coming in 😭 can’t wait for season 4 🙌🏽👏🏽
even though I got spoiled by a YT short a week before the final episode, it still made me cry thinking what would happen to everyone if we lose nezuko. and the OST when they reveal her standing in the sun is also so emotional
If you havent figured out, im pretty sure its that people can use any breathing technique, but everyone has an aptitude towards a certain one that they are proficient at (Tanjiro started with water breathing, but its not his forte, Hinokami Kagura is, so while his water breathing is strong, its not its full potential bc he doesnt have a aptitude for it, which he does mention at some point in the show not being as good at it as Giyu)
Pretty sure in the red light district arc he says he can't use the Water or Sun Breathing and merges them to make his own like how everyone develops there breathing technique.

In short, if someone say is more suited to water breathing style - no matter how hard they try to learn another style fully, they'll never master it. Like Tanjiro. His body through genetics of his ancestor being taught sun breathing and then turning it into a dance to pass down - hinokami kagura - makes it hidden deep down but his true calling. It's why (says it in S4 E2 that just aired) - Giyu says he expected Tanjiro to master water breathing but no matter how hard Tanjiro DID practice, he never would have mastered it.
Breathing techniques are literally just exeggerated fighting styles. Everybody is able to use them. But to master them to the degree to cut a demon seriously and have enough stamina left to go on, that's just something you can do with one or maybe two breathing techniques. Don't forget, to cut a lower rank demons neck you need incredible amounts of strength, probably as much as destroying a whole building in one blow. Mitsuri as example learned flame breathing, but still switched to her own breathing technique, because it fits her strength, flexibility and her sword better. Tengen probably learned thunder breathing before creating his sound breathing (don't know if its true but would make sense), but his sound breathing fits his style more.

Flexie, I am a grown-ass man and when I tell you I balled when I thought Nezuko just sacrificed herself it would be an understatement. Putting myself in Tanjiro’s shoes as I take care of my younger brother, I could never make that choice, or rather I would have and said screw those 3 people I ain’t leaving my brother to burn.

This really shows how the team is kinda crippled when not together. Inosuke would easily find the coward little shit with his sense of touch while Zenitsu would easily catch him and keep him in place for Tanjiro to get the job done with Hinokami Kagura.
Having the snake Hashira be the one smitten with the love Hashira is another play on opposites. The first time we meet him he is in a tree while the rest of the Hashira are on the ground. The guy who stabbed nezuko is more rabid but snake boi is the most solitary.

Hantengu=Half-Tengu, a legendary Japanese monster. He was very strong. I cried during this episode too. I'm looking forward to the fierce battles to come.
Even if Tanjiro could have saved Nezuko there sacrificing those smiths, they would be banished from slayers (or even executed) afterwards and could've become something like Gyutaro/Daki(Ume) siblings. That would be the "wrong turn" Tanjiro pondered on during his fight with Gyutaro. Also there's that seppuku commitment on Urokodaki and Giyu >_

Man when that Piano hits in hard it really lets the emotions flow. Spoiler alert! I knew she would survive when I read the manga but I didn't realize what it would mean! I thought she would become immune at some point. That said...The author does make you rethink stuff and I wasn't 100% sure.
I mean, besides whatever the upper one is to Tanjiro and Muzan, no one else has used the Sun Breathing. And that's something that terrifies Muzan. The one breathing technique that can realistically kill him, just reappeared after all these years.
I felt a bit disappointed with hantengu's backstory to be honest, I expected a more developed story and not such a shallow and "easy to hate" character, specialy considering the amazing metaphore with emotions that they made with the "demon form". I needed to rewatch the story a few times to catch the little details of what happen with every emotion: the implications with fear, the "basic" human emotions, hatred etc. Really deep and beautiful when you realize. It was a great arc nonetheless 💃
Eh, Hantengu's not shallow just because he's not sympathetic and being easy to hate doesn't make for a shallow character. His character is very developed honestly through all his dialogue, actions, powers and design. There's a lot behind his character and his unwillingness to take responsibility. His parallels with Nezuko, Mitsuri and Tanjiro are also really good for fleshing out his character by proxy.
@@natalimoina I may have explained myself badly, but Hantengu is named the demon not the human before the demon (as we saw with Gyutaro and Daki). I really liked the demon Hantengu, the progression of power, the metaphore with emotions, etc. But contrary as we saw with other demons as Rui or Gyutaro and Daki for instance, the human backstory of Hantengu is shallow in my opinion: very short, not very deep and easy to hate him at the end of it.
Are we still on the long red haired demon slayer is the father of Tanjiro, Navi?😫 the fact that they've mentioned multiple times in the anime "300 years ago" "Sengoku period" but no, they never pay attention when necessary and then keep on assuming stuff on their own The anime never insinuated that Yoriichi is the father and even showed memories of Tanjiro's father. That would be the "wrong turn" Tanjiro pondered on during his fight with Gyutaro. Also there's that seppuku commitment on Urokodaki and Giyu >_

Man when that Piano hits in hard it really lets the emotions flow. Spoiler alert! I knew she would survive when I read the manga but I didn't realize what it would mean! I thought she would become immune at some point. That said...The author does make you rethink stuff and I wasn't 100% sure.

The theory is that the reason tanjiro keeps breaking swords, is because they can't handle hinokami breathing style. But that old sword can.
I mean, besides whatever the upper one is to Tanjiro and Muzan, no one else has used the Sun Breathing. And that's something that terrifies Muzan. The one breathing technique that can realistically kill him, just reappeared after all these years.

I felt a bit disappointed with hantengu's backstory to be honest, I expected a more developed story and not such a shallow and "easy to hate" character, specialy considering the amazing metaphore with emotions that they made with the "demon form". I needed to rewatch the story a few times to catch the little details of what happen with every emotion: the implications with fear, the "basic" human emotions, hatred etc. Really deep and beautiful when you realize. It was a great arc nonetheless 💃
Eh, Hantengu's not shallow just because he's not sympathetic and being easy to hate doesn't make for a shallow character. His character is very developed honestly through all his dialogue, actions, powers and design. There's a lot behind his character and his unwillingness to take responsibility. His parallels with Nezuko, Mitsuri and Tanjiro are also really good for fleshing out his character by proxy.
@@natalimoina I may have explained myself badly, but Hantengu is named the demon not the human before the demon (as we saw with Gyutaro and Daki). I really liked the demon Hantengu, the progression of power, the metaphore with emotions, etc. But contrary as we saw with other demons as Rui or Gyutaro and Daki for instance, the human backstory of Hantengu is shallow in my opinion: very short, not very deep and easy to hate him at the end of it.

The anime never insinuated that Yoriichi is the father and even showed memories of Tanjiro's father. And the fact that Yoriichi was from 300 years ago only paid attention.😅
