I favor country rock bands with a pedal steel guitar and being willing to use them. My favorite version of this is a not so popular rock band called new riders of the purple sage, nothing has topped this, "Buddy Cage" on the steel guitar. Though I still thumbs up Gram for singing it. th-cam.com/video/BWE6IR-AF0o/w-d-xo.html
thanks for this. yeh i'm a vanZ fan (Townes, unbeknownst by other commenters Had Nothing To Do with this Song)... Gram Parsons deserves [big rocknroll] money for HIS song...that's not going to happen. so your rendition's the best truth...read Keith Richards' autobiography, before you mistake my word for non-truth. Stealing+Lying may not have been The Rollings Stones worst sins, but stealing and later lying about the theft rank right on up there.
Thanks for watching! Gram Parsons raised the Stones at a very high level, even not having all recognition, he was responsible for the greatest works of stones as; Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street, and although Gram never recorded with The Stones, to my ear, he can be heard prominently throughout all country phase of stones.
Actually not bad as a tribute. Other comments are being too critical. It's a tribute. Do you not understand what a tribute is? It's also not a competition. I like all the versions of this great song.
@@vanmcdaniel6324 lol when you ‘tribute’ something you generally pull the songs cadence from that said artist. It literally has nothing similar to Grams version even.
Buen cover, gracias
Very nice keep rockin in the free world 10-4
Great. Thanks Dan for the load. So Gram.
Stellar ,and it is going into my rotation love it.. Love Townes version as well..
Great version!!
Dudeism at its best.
It's Mike Ward from the GP tribute The Last Whippoorwill. Still good though.
Excellent cover of Dead Flowers! Did GP cover that song?

I agree.
This is everything wrong with country music. Pick up the needle again?
