So I saw someone at around 1:08 say they haven’t seen Madness Combat, and they wanted an explanation. Basically, Tricky has a portable version of something called an improbability drive, which basically not just corrects mistakes in your favor (hence the red text in the first two songs), but can also warp reality in certain ways. Apparently, it can also turn Tricky into the form you see currently (although the original appearance was white, and not red). Edit: Alright, I get it, the red is from Madness Accelerant. You can stop now.
I mean there's no REAL explanation for what it does other than 'stuff that doesn't make sense' and Tricky is using his to basically reality hack so he always wins (until it gets blown up and then he immediately reverts to a powerless clown and is unceremoniously headshot).
@@noobbrhue9306 madness combat is a trip and a half, like seriously, you have a higher chance of dying here than in warhammer, and chances are you'll be revived and killed alot more times cause Jesus

@@happygamer_18 Ooooh yay! Here we go, buckle in! So I don't know if you've ever seen sheet music that uses staff notation (with the lines going across), but it's kind of a left-to-right thing, you read across each line of music and then jump down to the next one. Each line is divided up into "measures" or "bars" which are all a certain length; those usually line up with certain emphasized notes, and help you keep track of where you are based on how much time has passed. So the "time signature" is a very small thing on that page, it's usually just two numbers right at the beginning of the first line, but it's very important because it determines how long each measure is. The bottom number, always a power of 2 (usually 4 or 8) tells you which note value counts as a "beat," so if it's 4, each quarter note is a beat. (That part is relative depending on the tempo and the way the piece is written, so with no sheet music it doesn't really mean a lot.) The top number tells you how many of those beats are in a measure. This quality of the piece, how the beats are structured, is also called the "meter" of the piece. The overwhelming majority of pieces are in 4/4 (each measure is made up of 4 quarter-note beats), to the point that we just call that "common time" and often just mark it with a big C instead of numbers. Think of, say, a march, or a classic rock beat. Then, occasionally you'll get a piece in 3/4, like a waltz (traditionally a dance step). Also, sometimes you have 6/8 (which is like 3/8 x 2 or 2/8 x 3) or some other multiple of the basic numbers. But then you get weird time signatures like 5/4, 7/8, basically any prime or unusual number you can think of can go on top of a time signature. Ever heard "Take Five" by Dave Brubeck? That's the easiest example of a 5/4 time signature. (In that case it's actually divided into 3 + 2, which is a pretty common tactic for weird meter.) So... all that I said above assumes you're using the same time signature for the entire piece, so your measures are all the same length. BUT... you don't have to do that. A piece is said to be in "mixed meter" if it changes time signatures any number of times, and all you need to do to change the time signature is put a new pair of numbers in front of a measure. Of course there's no limit to this either. Hellclown changes time signatures a whopping SEVEN TIMES, using 4/4, 5/4, 7/4, and 9/4! How can we tell that without any sheet music? Well, we don't technically have defined measures, but musicians can learn to identify stressed beats and repeated melodic/rhythmic patterns when listening to music to assign some structure to it. If you listen closely at the beginning, you can hear that the chords change in a sequence of four chords, and Tricky's first four low notes reflect this; that's how I would divide up the measures. Identifying a constant beat within those measures is a little harder, but once you find it, you'll be able to count to five every time the chord changes. The beat stays constant throughout the entire track (the _tempo_ is the same), so if you keep tapping or counting at that speed and look for repeated sections, you can puzzle out what the time signatures are and notice when they change! I wouldn't expect to get that immediately though... try and find some other tracks with clearer and more consistent time signatures to practice tapping/counting with, or ask me for recommendations. TLDR: It's a fairly simple element of sheet music that leads to some VERY complicated stuff when you use it in interesting ways. It boils down to "musical patterns taking a certain amount of time relative to a constant beat length."
I figured it was 7/4 and not 6/4, and I reckon that's what they were trying to say. Might be wrong, though. As an explanation: 5/4 - instead of counting to four, you count to five at the same speed as you would normally count to four. 7/4 - as above, but to seven instead of five.
You gotta love how Hellclown has such complicated time signatures that Jerod was completely thrown off at the start, before finally getting into the swing of things at around 0:36!
I'd love to see him try this again after practicing a bit more. The song has a really cool groove that he never really got into; he struggled a bit with the 5/4 for sure
The track switches between 4/4, 5/4, 7/4, and 9/4 many times throughout the track, which is likely why it was so hard to decipher it. That is according to the wiki, although I might've heard some 17/16 in there too.
Nah there's no 17/16 (although that would be awesome). There's a 5/4 intro, then a 7/4 section that repeats itself a lot with different bits in between; the first bit is 4/4, then after the return of the 7/4 you get a 9/4 bit based on the 7/4, and then it goes into a 5/4 version of the 4/4 bit. It never loses the quarter note beat though.
@@Nat_the_Chicken yeah, kind of what i thought, given that the other time signatures were over 4. Kind of hard to count the beats too, given the track.
