DeWalt 1/2" Impact Wrench for only $30! Craigslist Find

  • I bought this DeWalt DW292 1/2" corded impact wrench for $30 via a Craigslist add. It's rated for 345 ft.-lbs, which is way more powerful than the 1/2" Kawasaki impact wrench that I have used in some of my videos. The Kawasaki is rated for 220 ft.-lbs and many people suggest that is overrated. I think this wrench is going to be a lot of fun. It's a bit dirty, but I will clean it up. I test the tool in the video by removing a fixed cup. And the tool even came with the case.

      I have a question for you RJ, I have a Fuji touring bike that did have a 48,36,26 chairings, but I swapped out the 36 for a 32 and the 26 for a 22 the problem now is that it doesn't want to go to the smaller rings. Any advice? Thanks George.

    Hey, I absolutely love your videos
    I have to say 2 things:
    1 thank you so much for your contents because you taught me basically 99% of my knowledge in bikes
    2 I'd like to install a nice road brake on a frame from a very old city bike: the problem is that a road brake has a reach of about 50mm while the distance between the front brake hole and my rim is about 80mm
    I know there are useful adapters (drop bolts) or extra long reach brakes but they both cost almost as much as the brake! So I'd like to go DIY
    Any tips?
    Again thanks for your contents, keep going!!

    • @RJTheBikeGuy
      @RJTheBikeGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shrug, I would suggest the drop bolt or the long reach brakes.

    I had a stuck left pedal. Had brake anti seize applied before assembly. Crank arm removed. Clamped into vice, open end wrench to flats, Allen bit at other side of crank on a 1/2" pneumatic impact wrench. Carefully turning the correct way on both sides with helper on wrench. 125psi from enormous air compressor. It didn't move! New crank arm with old pedal cut out with hacksaw easiest plan! Good thing SPD is my favorite system!

      @RJTheBikeGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't use the allen fitting to remove pedal. Use the flats.

    Can't go wrong with DeWalt power tools, they will outlive us. I'm always on eBay Craigslist and Letgo looking for tools, I won a Bid on eBay for a Milwaukee cordless impact driver with two 4ah batteries $75.50, That's a steal cause one of those batteries cost that much. It was in new condition most likely a divorced wife selling off ex-husbands tools which happens a lot on eBay as I would contact them back asking if they have any more tools for sale and make them an offer. lol

    Yes nice find I'm a big dewalt fan as well I like my impact drivers especially the brushless ones and the drills mine are made in the Czech Republic bit more expensive but not Chinese don't use them much on bike just for motor bikes or driving screws really mine is rated for 205nm which is mad for how compact it is but for 30 bucks can't go wrong
