Great video! Of all the other D7 process coverage on the internet, yours is the most concise and to the point, and all in just over five minutes! Great content. If you have some time while you're settling in Porto, I have a couple of questions about the process. You mentioned that most of the documents required two copies. Are both copies apostilled? And which ones need two copies? Which travel and health insurance did you use? Thanks for the great content! 👍
Sorry I may have misspoke but you just need 1 apostille copy of both your criminal background check and birth certificate. We went through AXA but there is many other options . It was better for 5 of us.
I’d LoVe a video all about the D7 requirements. I’m trying to decide which visa would be best for my family.
Question on the proof of income etc. Would it have been sufficient if you could just show that you have a hefty amount of funds in bank accounts (American) instead of passive income? Or do they absolutely require that you show you are getting passive income like remote work income? Wondering if just having a really solid amount of savings would be enough for them.

How did you find your apartment (referral)? Also, which Portuguese bank did you settle on? Which travel insurance company? Where was your VFS appt? D.C.? We used bordr for setting up NIFs and bank account. I have realtor that helped me out under casa cockatoo on Instagram. His name is Jesse.
Can you work in Portugal on a D7?
So, question: if you had to have 25k in you Portugal bank account, then how much do you need in your American account?
There’s no real set numbers. Just that you make over threshold monthly and can “support yourself”.
Did you use One bank account for both of you with $25k?
Yes but I heard you only need 10k but wanted more as a family of 5. We settled on 5k/person.
Been to portugal amazing place but it can only stay as a gem if its stay hidden once hundreds of thousands migrate brining their toxic ways and increasing the prices for everything starting with living accommodations it will quickly rott.
