Leung Shum is my Grandmaster. My former Sifu was the late Joel Rodriguez. I will always love Ying Jow Pai.

    oh yes, you´re welcome!!!
All the last Eagle Claw sifus lived and taught in South China/Hong Kong; e.g. Lau Fat Mang, Ng Wai Nung
(my Grandmaster), also the contemporary generations have their roots in Hong Kong, e.g. Lily Lau, Gini Lau, Leung Shum, Ng Kwan Bok.
The Eagle Claw tradition in Mainland-China is not very alive; no public schools teaching traditional Eagle Claw.
So the world-wide Eagle Claw-nomenclature is in Cantonese.

ukguy- My instructor moved from Taiwan to Hong Kong. With the Japanese invation and Mao taking over. Cantonese they named them in that language. Yue Fei's tomb is down lower and they fought the Jin army and pushed the Jin back to the yang si river. But it originally came from the Shaolin to the Lao family. It is believed that Tao Gao brought it into the Shaolin temple. It went into the Jin Mo Assoc. and then South with Lau Fat Mang and Ng Wai Nung who had schools in Hong Kong after WWII

    You´re absolutely right.
Sifu Leung Shum (New York) and Sifu Ng Kwan Bok (Hong Kong) are kung fu brothers.

may I ask why if these are northern style forms then why are they written in a Cantonese way not a Mandarin way which would be Mei Hua Quan ( plum blossom fist) and Lohan Quan? almost no one in northern China speaks Cantonese.

Eagle Claw is a typical northern style.
There are many Ng family schools in the US.

Thanks, the reason I was asking because it looked very southern.
Very similar to Choy Lay Fut.
