    A million thanks to Calvary Chapel and Pastor Paul for these incredible educational videos. I have been reading the bible for 2 months now, and these videos have been a crucial tool for me in my biblical studies. Truly, thank you!

      Same! I started The Bible Recap with Terra Leigh Cobble on the Bible App in January. I will read scripture. Listen to the devotional on the app and then head over to TH-cam to find Pastor Paul's further unpacking on the word. So thankful for him and his ministry! ♥️ Finally reading the Bible and understanding it more.

    Mind blowing isn’t it that the enemy can’t destroy you physically but by making you Sin to separate you from God until God gave his only son to pay for your sins so there is nothing that can go against you now!!! PRAISE HIM 🙏🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🫶🫶🫶

    If you think about how many people were in the camp, to some people it would have been a long way away! The serpent was put up on a pole so ALL could see it, it would glint in the sun, so people right at the edge could just catch a glimpse and live! A beautiful picture of some with that tiny bit of faith to look to Jesus!

    The bronze snake also reminds me of the promise of God in the Garden (Gen 3:15) that Satan would attempt to defeat Christ, but Christ would rise from the grave, defeating sin.

    I wonder what people out in the middle of the desert used to work the metal? What was used as kindling for the fires? How did they pour the metal? Why does it say God has horns like a mountain ox? Are we sure this is god we're talking about?

    Speaking of Bronze being connected to sin than why was there a connection to the son of man being the color of Bronze in Revelations 1:15 in the NIV? I only question cause there are many other colors to mention yet Bronze was the one used to describe the Son of man. Yes, I am a believer and yes I worship the one true king Yahweh.

      Elsewhere I’ve read that Bronze is connected to God’s judgement and forgiveness OF sin

      Hi. I know it’s 2 years since your question. The KJV says brass. But Jesus isn’t the color of bronze/brass. It says His feet were like fine brass. The symbolism meaning varies depending on who you ask. Some say it’s associated with judgement.

  • @rysloan
    @rysloan 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    One correction: Bronze symbolises judgement. Eg in Revelation, Jesus feet are bronze.
    The serpent represents sin (its bite is death, Gen3 etc)
    2 Cor 5:21 'For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him". Our sin was judged on the cross. Hence the bronze serpent.

    I expected ALL the prophets to be redeemed/saved/in God's Kingdom; how can Balaam be so treasonous to tell Balak how to destroy Israel, knowing full well he was going up against God Himself, AGAIN?.. Not so sure about Balaam; maybe he repented before the end and will be in the Kingdom.

    • @janeecejjf2001
      @janeecejjf2001 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You’re right that we’ll find out in the end. Balaam however was never fully committed to God. Not if he was doing divination.
      But he may have been before he died. Idk

    The Bronze Serpent represents when Jesus becomes sin, a curse and dies on a Cross so that when You look to him hagging on that Cross, You dont continue in sin, curse and death.

    Extra biblical accounts (Jasher) say Balaam came from Pharaoh's court which is interesting. I know there is a lot of debate about the validity of those books, but maybe the writers knew more than we did and we can consider it "fan-fiction?" I always felt so bad for the donkey in this story 🐴

    • @janeecejjf2001
      @janeecejjf2001 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The book of Jasher is actually mentioned in the Bible. I don’t know it’s so much the validity of the books but whether or not they were God inspired to be in the Bible. So it doesn’t mean there’s no truth to them, just that they’re not God inspired writings.

    Intresting that bronze is that metal referring to Sin...yet in Revelation. Yahshua(Jesus) is described as appearing as Burnished Bronze.
    Id imagine that as bronze purified by fire... 🤔

    Why is bronze connected to sin?

    • @Donnie.Golding
      @Donnie.Golding 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      because Christ was Bronze like in appearance in revelation and daniel references and Sin he bore on the cross and spiritual death he took when we believed and looked onward 2 christ.
