If you live in an area with a lot of clay in the soil, make some mud, spread it on and let it dry. The clay will draw the oils out. Scrape it off once it's dry and then wash with Dawn. It dries your skin out but that's a side effect I can live with.

Vigorously scrub it off with soap, works best with a washcloth, and the sooner after exposure the better. Doesn't help much after blisters form though it will still remove any oil there.

2. Use felsnaptha laundry soap to wash the infected area. It's not natural but it works great!

The only thing I have ever found that works, once you have a poison ivy rash, is Jewel Weed (aka: wild touch me not). Also works well against Stinging Nettle. IF however, you have been into poison ivy and want to prevent a rash (best idea) use Dawn dish detergent and a wash cloth and scrub your skin. The wash cloth is essential and the mechanical action will lift the oil and the Dawn will carry it away. This works. I am highly allergic to the stuff and have been plagued by it all of my life as I love the outdoors.

Take a jar put rubbing alcohol in it and then add jewelweed into it and let it sit for a month then your ready to go for the season

Theres a bar of laundry soap called fels naptha. Works well but smells pretty strong. Mine was gone in about a week n it was really bad by the time I found out about this stuff

My mother applied a paste made of oatmeal and water. Didn't work worth a damn. It was interesting waking up feeling like you'd been mummified when it dried overnight. LOL.
just washout off with soap and water. Just be very thorough. use a wash cloth.

I never had poison ivy I been in it with shorts cleaning it out. My grandpa was the same way.
Fluffs Ipad same. My dad has horrible reactions to it. Seems like just getting near it puts him in a bad situation. He's got a small reaction right now.
