I hope this is the first of many more episodes from this guy to come… It would definitely rival, if not be better, then the videos that park tools releases
I hope this is just the beginning of a long running show for Transition, some might find it odd, or just a one off parody, but I ask how does it make more sense to watch someone paint a pretty picture? This video is demonstrating an arguably more useful talent, and they both end up with works of art, soooo, keep doing what you're doing, it's great!
I want to get my frame powder coated and in order to do that, I have to take it apart. Looked all over the internet but there are no videos showing how to take the bearings out if their they're IN the frame. Then I stumbled upon this gem. Not only does it give me the information I'm looking for but does it in the form of my current religion - Painting with Bob Ross. This is one of those once in a lifetime kind of videos I'll probably remember forever. Thanks so much for making this.
I don't know how this video went under my radar for two months. I just feel like doing a full bearing maintenance on my bikes. Even the hardtails! Keep them going Transition!
Is there any other Brand out there telling you which Bearings they use and how to change?? I think not ! Transition big up for this rick and rossie move.
Very zen like. After i watched it the first time, i poured a nice glass of whiskey, sat back and watched it all over again. It was like bed time story time ... but for like bike nerds. Thanks for the experience Transition.
What did you use to space the press handles (on both sides) when pressing in the main pivot bearings? It looks like maybe an extended 6903 drift on the bearing side, but what keeps the handle from bottoming out on the fame on the empty side? Thank you!
While I don't own a transition bike, I did use a slide hammer on my carbon frame. 3 of the 4 bearings came out easy but 1 was seriously sized and I used full force for about 30 hits with slide hammer until it came out. Do you think I should be worrying about wondering if I damaged the frame? It wasn't on a swing link, it was the solid part of front triangle which is thick carbon. I now realised since the other bearing side was out I could have pressed the bearing out, or used a heat gun to help the process but I couldn't think of any other option at the time.
I like to cool the bearing to shrink it just a bit. Take a can of compressed air for cleaning computers and turn it upside down. It will shoot out liquid cold!
Is it safe to tape the main pivot bearing out with a carbon frame or is spending the 80 bucks on a bearing press smarter? I'm just worried about the carbon cracking or just not liking it.
Beat the devil out of it and don't forget to use oderless thinner. Your family will thank you for it. Now where on earth is that:"Happy little singletrack?"
This is the greatest maintenance video I have ever seen
100% agree with this statement
You're not wrong.
100%
*Just an awesome **Latest.Bike** ....well constructed, sturdy, great looking…got me back out on the trails!! Could not be happier!!*
"beat the devil out of it" - clearly this was a well researched biopic.
Shoutout to BOB ROSS. only the Joy of Painting fans who are also mountain bikers could appreciate how genius this video is. 😁
Wow, this is very technical. Easy to get confused where everything is supposed to go.

I indeed just watched a maintenance tutorial video for a bike i have nothing to do with. Well done!

I don't know how this video went under my radar for two months.
I just feel like doing a full bearing maintenance on my bikes. Even the hardtails!
Keep them going Transition!

Unreal. It’s a work of art. A masterpiece.
Greatest bike maintenance video of all time.
I dont have a transition bike but this got me hooked til the end. Giddyyup!
Honestly, this is SO well done. Need and deserves way more views.
Is there any other Brand out there telling you which Bearings they use and how to change?? I think not ! Transition big up for this rick and rossie move.
Santa cruz.
This just made my day and also made me so much less fearful of this when the time comes..!
Dude never broke it out of character.. fucking amazing

I love this videos, lots of helpful tips for us home mechanics
Everything about this what thought through perfectly. This makes me want to buy a Transition.
Why doesn’t this have 34 million views?!
I am all lubed up for action now
By far the best How to Video out there.
Bob Ross turned bike mechanic 😂 This is awesome.
I don't ride a Transition, but I'm still watching this video
Artistic demo approach with bedroom voice. Hehe
Love it. Surprised you managed the whole job without a happy little accident though (o;
Amazing performance!
The Bob Ross of bikes
CBS should be paying you guys, this is absolutely perfect! LOL! When are the books available? Ha ha ha!
awesome idea

absolutely a classic
Park tool needs to start doing this.
I like the Bob Ross style presentation 🤣
Accidentally watched the whole thing
Hot damn! Bob Ross and Bikes! My life is complete! 😂😂😂
Magnificent
What a great idea!!! :) Okay now you have me!!!
Brilliant!
😂killed it with this one boys!
Why do you need to use a slide hammer on the seat stay bearings? Could you just use the same technique as the others?
That is beyond awesome sauce!

Actually amazing haha!
LEGENDARY

I heard some bloke with a squirrel did a parody of this but with oil painting
Nice dark video
Sick video. Loved it. What bearing press is that? I want to get one to do my pivot bearings.
Hey Jarad, Glad you liked it! That is a Wheels Mfg bearing press Pro kit.
what circlip pliers do i need for this? any specific size or anyone tell me which please? @transition bikes
What do you guys recommend as a service interval for suspension pivots?
Well how much do you ride? I try to do mine at least once a year maybe more if I am riding a lot.
Classic ✊
So good!
first time i pressed the bearings out on carbon frame i heard that loud sound and thought i cracked my frame. was not good
Epic video! What grease do you recommend for this? I have some Park Tool grease. Will that work or should I use something else?
Thanks a ton!
That will work perfectly!
@@transitionbikes7777 Which slide hammer tool do you recommend?... and what indicators/signs do you use to determine when bearings need replacing?
Shame my patrol came with no grease on the main pivot. It’s very corroded onto the bearings, it’s splaying the chainstay apart before breaking free
Genius.
That titanium white grease!
EZRIDER lithium
LMAO..... honoring the legend
FYI...tried this with some PVC for my Kona and the PVC just deforms and crushes itself and you don't get your bearing out. Was a bit bummed
:-))))))))) Best brand! Made my day :-)
To think Santa Cruz expects me to read a PDF...
Brilliant......... the voice actually made me sleepy!
HAHAHAAHAHAHA sound efects the best
briliant
Bob Ross doing bearing maintenance...
No van dike brown!??

Hi Bob Ross
Just beat the devil out of it , hahahahaha
Hahahaha this is amazing.
Note to your camera guy, turn on the lights same time you start shooting..
Beat the devil out of it and don't forget to use oderless thinner. Your family will thank you for it.

Tranquil bra
I've watched the whole video and I don't even have a bike.
