Awesome Let's Play! I've been waiting to see more Underworlds on here (and I agree that the Rivals format makes starting to play a lot less daunting, haha!). Can't wait for more and I'd love to see 'best of three' played out as well. Given the fact the ranged Aelf dominated the practice game and it was the stabby-stabby one that was the star of this game, I'd like to see how the other games played out!
I didn't catch if this was mentioned or not, but since Harrowdeep, the objectives begin the game flipped over on the gloom/cover side. You can flip them in the power step if you have a fighter on them. Makes those Elves a bit stronger! Also, they reversed the power step order to where the player whose turn it is plays cards or delves second. Nice video, always cool to see the new stuff, thanks!
@@Vorpal_Wit Yeah, it's supposed to give people a chance to save a fighter. Prevents someone who attacks from immediately pushing into a lethal, that sort of thing.
I was going to ask this question did they just play the game wrong with the objectives or has nethermaze changed the rule back so objectives start number sides up?
skaven is OP af in this set, they are so aggressive, their ploys are aggressive, they're strong, they all get grievous, etc, they inspire so easily. i am always fighting for my life playing as shadowborn who are so hard to inspire and are conditional to shadow hex tactics and have no real strengths offensively or defensively. the shadow strategies only help so much
The new Warbands look like a lot of fun! This set looks like it is much better than Harrowdeep. Also when Ash was buying an upgrade and said “I’ll buy it for…..” I swear we were going to get a Robocop quote in there. I also agree, Rivals is great for me. You can just grab a band, their deck and get playing.
Seems like a great set, much nicer and polished than Harrowdeep (in my opinion), shame about their weird release schedule, releasing a Harrowdeep warband at the same time the new season comes out, and only having 4 bands (2 of which were in the starter), I'm really feeling bummed out, as Direchasm still had several months of life left but now it just rotated out, it's really hard to keep up with the releases nowadays, and if all the universals are being rotated out every year or so then it's definitely not worth the money. I came into Underworlds because it was affordable but this is getting a bit silly now
Wait, the sets rotate out? Seriously? lol so you buy a fucking warband and spend time painting it up and then next year you just...can't use that anymore and have to buy a new one?
@@ninneplug Depends on the format. Some formats allow most of all cards but usually the “competitive” scene only allows the cards from the last two seasons released. Bear in mind only the universal cards rotate out which is what I was referring to, you can use your warband’s exclusive faction cards (and faction obviously) in most formats, no matter how old, so all the way back from 2018 for example.
So are they only releasing six warbands per season now? Normally the order is a 2p Boxset, followed by two singles, rinse/repeat. Now it look like a 2P Boxset and one single, in two drops. PS: 15:50 You are shooting through a blocking (incomplete) hex.
4 per season, 2 in the box and 2 separately. However there's 2 seasons per year, so that means 8 warbands and 4 boards per year - very similar to previous years.
I managed to pick up the direchasm starter set for £35 so it was a good way to get into it and play some small scale games. Also the sculpts are just awesome
@@liverpools Not required, of course, but they did Warcry stats for most of the Underworlds bands in the new book, so would be nice if they continued the habit. They gave the AoS stats on the site, could have done Warcry bands too.
The set hasn't even released yet. They've done Warcry stats for basically all of the Underworlds warbands so far, why are you assuming that they won't do a PDF at a minimum for these too?
@@Ankhtowe Doing Warcry stats for the Underworlds bands is a new thing that started with the barnes & noble box and then the new update book. There's no PDF's of them. Hopefully they will, but we'll have to wait and see.
Great video. Would love more playthroughs.

Anyone know why the change in the Power Step priority? Is it supposed to fix something thats broke?

I can shut up now, it was confirmed by GW Direchasm has not rotated out yet.

I played Shadespire and all arounf it the first 3-4 seasons. Still great models but.. GW is killing their own game.
My favourite line: It's like beef supreme, but, you know with murder...
I love the Underworld's board game feel.

25:29 May I know how you get to reroll twice?
Love the look of the new models. The Underworlds always have some great dynamic poses.

great to see underworlds here! you can't reroll attack dice after the defence has been rolled =)
So is it really a new season? So direchasm is out? Seems kinda soon
It's a half season, Direchasm does not rotate out until the next core box releases.
Looks like a great set. It would have been an instabuy for me if it came with Warcry cards…
Why would it come with cards for a game that isn't underworlds /shrug

ya what was that lol
So the next time at at Taco Bell, imma order, “ A beef supreme but WITH MURDER!!”
“Beautifully colored plastic” sounds heresy-ish at least.
Unpainted?!?!?! #manwhoplaysunpainted #greyhairgreyplastic JK :-P
