My wife and I hope to buy a boat in the 50" range when I retire here in the next five years so I have been watching a lot of your videos and I have found them to be very informative, thank you so much for taking the time to do these.
Good question! Our heat exchangers in the boat keep the humidity in check. The bridge gets some water since the canvas isn’t water tight and then it starts a moisture cycle during the day/night and mildew starts. With the dehumidifier it keeps it all in check.
@@ElliYacht1 Okay that makes sense. What type of heat exchangers do you have? My wife and I will be moving on board our boat in the next two-years. She is a 45-Tollycraft (53 feet over all) currently we do not have a proper working heat system. I’m open to any suggestions you may have. We do have a 8KW Gen set, we also have 4-solar panels and 6-house batteries.
How are you powering them and what kinds of Wattage do they consume? We’re off grid, but have 400Ah of Lithium available, so, plenty of juice. With multiple running it seems quite taxing on the electricity. We are very well insulated though, which helps a little. Double glazed windows and thermal insulation on our 62foot wide beam.
They each draw 28W max (120V from our Victron 10kW inverter) with an average of 21W. We have 21kWh of LiFePO4 so it’s negligible for us. Lower available Watt Hours would definitely be more of a draw consideration.
Ah yes there is never nothing to do when you live on the water...lol. "Happy New Year u2!!" I think 2022 is going to be a great year to be on the water...

Really beautiful boat you have there!
Thank you!
Great topic! Curious as to why you have the dehumidifier located in the upper bridge? Would it not be more beneficial located inside the boat?

Ugghh! Head exhaust fan are wretched loud! Dead curious to see what you figure out for the head vent fans!
We just posted our latest video on our vent project. Much quieter

Same to you! Although it feels a little like 2020.2 😂 Hopefully we can get into Canada this year! That is our goal this year.
