If I recall correctly, Wario being playable _was_ going to be the original reward for collecting 1,000,000 coins in New Super Mario Bros. 2, including all of his signature moves like the shoulder bash, but was cut since that would tend the development time and stuff.
This was amazing! they need to make another legit platforming Wario game, Warioware is cool an all but i'd love to see another adventure style Wario game. GG Darby.

I remember wondering if there was a way to unlock these two when I found out about the Luigi code when I played this game for the first time. Crazy that someone made it real, and it looks great! I'd love to see more levels made with these two in mind in the future

@@theneworoldgalyoutube1064 I don't think so. There is no leftovers in the game's files that as been discovered that hint at Waluigi being planned. And I'm pretty sure the waluigi model is the one from Mario party 3 on n64 or an edited version of it.

Like imagine a definitive version of NSMB mixing the original game with this, only having the gems if you play as Wario so only being able to unlock Waluigi playing like him

This is my favorite 2d mario game. It’s also one of the hardest in my opinion.
