I didn't know that fact about the WDW Railroad! This is such a useful overview on a really important topic for theme parks. Wonderful job!

It's such a fun little fact! I don't think I said it outright but the same applies to Disneyland's railroad as well. And thank you so much!

Also, ALL large parks should implement your top 2 no matter what - greenery & parking garages FTW!!

Awesome job on the video Parker! I think all parks (& even people if they have the means to do so) should definitely implement the composting idea, a friend of mine started composting and cut down quite a bit of waste going to the landfill. And using the plant-based utensils or even opting for actual silverware would help out quite a bit.

Thank you!!! And yeah, I feel like those two things should be fairly easy for most parks to do.

Quite insightful. I'll be curious what sorts of sustainability methods are implimented in the DisneylandForward project.
Fan of the idea of composting all of the waste food at theme parks, having the cooperation of guests might be a problem, but it's a great idea.

Yeah, it’ll be interesting to see for sure! And I mean, I think making it EASY for guests to sort properly do is more than half the battle. Disney already proved that placing trash cans every 30 steps vastly reduces the amount of litter in the parks, which just goes to show that convenience is key. And like I said in the video, effective and eye-catching labels goes a long way - and there’s quite a bit of research that looks at exactly what kind of labels are the most effective.

1 BILLION bird deaths from windows just in the US per year?!?!?
Holy CRAP!!!!! That's absolutely insane & so awful!!!
I know youve been working on this video for a long time, & I think it turned out absolutely amazing. Such an important video & I LOOVEE how you balanced each option with potential negatives but also how parks can practically impact each option. Just a brilliant video, well done sir 👏👏

Yeah it’s a startling high number! And it’s only the SECOND highest cause of anthropogenic-related bird death… the first is predation by outdoor cats. One of my colleagues is actually doing a lot of research on bird safe windows and is working on some policy with the Canadian government that would ensure all new construction projects use these windows.
AND THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I’m so glad to hear that 😊💚

The amount of paper just an average office goes thru is dreadful and I can't stand the waste at my own job. I can only imagine the impact if businesses as big as theme parks can fully make everything electronic.

For sure! It’s something you don’t really think about because it’s so commonplace, but once you actually crunch the numbers, it’s crazy how big of an impact going paperless would make.
