Biswajit Sarkar is an eminent sitar player of Seniya Maihar Gharana, and presently transforming himself as a potential Surbahar player in the field of Indian classical music following the Dagarvani style.
The Dagarvani is one of the oldest traditions of the Indian classical music genres which is twenty generations since the inception of the tradition. The essential features of Dagarvani school are well perceived in the experiential presentation of Shri. Biswajit Sarkar. The detail of the items are as follows:
In this maiden publication of Surbahar presentation Shri Biswajit Sarkar has presented Raga Yaman: Alap - Jod and Jhala followed by a gat set to madhyalaya Chautal.

Very nice and beautiful rendition. Touched the heart and a peace is reverb ating in soul.
It's almost a textbook rendition.
All of the parts like gat antra sanchari and avoge are explained nicely.
Avoge demanded a little elaboration.
A bit of 'arati' jhala was explicit.
Accompaniments were as demanded and good, never supercided.
But video editing is not up to the mark.
Sound recording also needs improvement.
These two has given a little hiccups.
Waiting for more of playing like this.
