I started following you while you were in nursing school and I was doing my pre-req’s. Now you’re a year and 8 months in L+D and I’m 9 months in L+D. Also a level 4 L+D unit and I totally get what you are saying that you’ve seen higher acuity patients more consistently because so have we. It’s hard to do everyday! I feel you on wanting to take a step back part! I’ve been on an LDRP unit for 13 months & the past few months have been exhausting! I’m moving to big city that only has high risk L&D floors and I’m second guessing if I wanna do L&D or step away from bedside 😅
I completely understand, it is so mentally exhausting dealing with such difficult cases. Make sure you do what you feel is best for you!!
Jackie, you are very genuine. just started working in ldrp and it is different. i hve previous nursing experience too. this unit changes me everyday. i feel mixed happy and sad. always questioning should i be there.
