Always get payment up front or at least half up front. Best not to have to learn the hard way. Glad you’re doing so well with embroidery. Try the iron on no show poly mesh ( not the nylon kind) and teary away in the hoop. Works great for thin shirts. Do a box around the design to stabilize it in the hoop to so it’s not slightly shifting and causing puckering. Hope this helps.
Yes that is what I did with this order and It was nice knowing I had 1/2 the money already starting! And thank you for the stabilizer tip! I had forgotten about the no show kind!!
You are doing amazing with your flat bed machine! I hope your business will continue to grow. Doing local work is the way to go. Much better then trying to rely on Etsy/Ebay etc.
For the shirt you could also try floating it rather than hooping it. I find it ends up getting stretched in the hoop, so when it's removed from the hoop it shrinks back awkwardly, causing some of the puckering. I just did a batch of polo shirts, embroidering on the sleeves like this, and I had zero issues with puckering. I used two sheets of cutaway (I think they're 2.5oz or 2.7oz?) and then ironed on some of the sulky soft touch on the back after I was done. My design was predominantly just text, but I did have a logo to do too, but I still think your design is a lot denser so this may not apply. Good luck with your future shirts! It's super impressive you managed so many jumpers on a home embroidery machine, it's so much work!
I’ve heard great things about hatch!! I was gifted an Embrilliance program that I’ve used a few times, but I still have learning to do. Seems pretty user friendly though
That’s great!! I don’t consistently have orders nor do I really try to. The easiest way to make money with embroidery is doing uniforms for local businesses. I just finished a $225 order that was 8 shirts with a simple logo. I spent half on material though which is the hard part about just getting started. There’s a lot of initial expenses besides just the machine.
Hope you all have a Sunday and a half!

I agree 100%!! People are very willing to go with a smaller company than the bigger ones in my town!

Try a piece of water soluble stabilizer on the top of the design. It will help with the puckering. The same stabilizer you use when doing towels.
Thank you for the tip!
Good job. May you be blessed with plenty of orders
Thank you!
What software do you use for your designs? I'm currently using hatch and I enjoy it but trying to find other software that is either easier or quicker

Hi Kendra, missing you on TH-cam videos. Everything ok?
You’re so nice to check in! I became pregnant and prioritized my energy on that. I’ve missed TH-cam and I’m trying to get back into it!
