Coming from a country that works with metric units only seeing you describe how the lb is calculated is just insanity. The ability to have a standard size for things makes the maths easier & you then know exactly what thickness of paper/cardstock you are getting every time. I will also use a Hot Press 210gsm cotton blend watercolour paper in my Laser Printer for colouring or watercolouring. Thank you for all the hard work that you’ve put into this.
This presentation was super helpful, thank you! I didn’t know about the various sizes of parent sheets-everything makes so much more sense now! I knew to compare the gsm numbers, but I’ve always wondered how the lbs number was arrived at!
Oh, thank you! When I first started buying specific kinds of paper for different projects, I learned about gsm measurements but never about the other, although I could see it on some of the packaging. Most store clerks these days don't know anything about the products they sell, so until your video popped onto my screen just now, I have had no idea what those pound numbers meant! The only thing I ever had to remember was, "twenty pound bond," for my printer. No idea what it meant until now! Another of life's little mysteries solved. Bless your heart! 🥰
Great job on presenting this information 😊 The visual makes so much more sense! I appreciate the effort that you and Steve put into this. THANK YOU! This will be a great resource for our crafting community.
Thank very much for this information. The visuals were extremely helpful. I am a cardmaker and just knew the GSM weights of my favorite cardstocks. This just made everything make so much more sense. Thankyou
Thank you! This really helps a lot. I've been trying to figure out what paper I need to get because I want a good heavy weight cardstock. The different varieties are kind of mind numbing if you don't know what's what. ❤❤
I recently purchased some new cardstock by Neenah -"Exact Index" 110# / 199gsm. I ran out of the Premium cardstock from Walmart that was 80# and index 199GSM. I knew there was a difference but didn't understand why. Thank you for your explanation.
Over the years of doing Art, I’ve had to learn about paper weight. Thank you for sharing this information. As a member, can I download a copy of your chart?
Great content, as always! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (mistake turkey blossom warfare blade until bachelor fall squeeze today flee guitar). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
I’ve never bought paper by the lb always by the gsm it makes much more sense and I know what I’m getting. Sometimes I just feel like these manufacturers try to mess with our heads 😂
better be careful how you pronounce your words.---the words coming up at the bottom of the screen. i did not know they made "hot breast paper!" 🤣 and... i did not know you use watercolor paper by "being bang" 😁

I knew (or was pretty sure) that gsm is how you actually know how thick a paper is. Thanks for confirming!!

Jennifer, I think you are a talented artist but you are not good at explaining things.,
I think she explains things just fine.
