When they split up, Warrel with Jim Sheppard (the bass player of Sanctuary) and the master guitarist and composer Jeff Loomis, formed Nevermore. Nevermore was in my opinion the best heavy metal band from the day they were born 'til today. Warrel was an authentic artist (genius lyricist, magnificent performer and he had a blessed voice).You should check out the song ''Sentient 6'' (live video) to realize what the word true artist means.

The lead guitarist Jeff Loomis had a couple instrumental albums which are really good. Jeff Loomis - Miles of Machines is an incredible song. Warrel Dane (RIP) has also been in several bands since Nevermore and they are very good.
Kevin Estrada, yes he was on PoE. He’s the first and the last solo on The Learning. Also they had a bunch of guitar players. The rest of the band was pretty set.
When you listen to "The River Dragon Has Come", follow up with "The Heart Collector" by Nevermore #Painintheask Also, still really hoping for "The Great Escape" from Seventh Wonder. It won't get many requests, for it is fairly unknown, but in my opinion it is as good as The Odyssey by Symphony X and A Change of Seasons from Dream Theater!!! An absolute must-hear of a 30 minute masterpiece!
I do believe that Kel especially will like this .. Check Loomis' last solo endeavor, Plains of Oblivion .. Featuring vocals of Christine Rhoades .. She sang backing with Dane on Dreaming Neon Black .. May I suggest the song "Reverie For Eternity" ..
Its one of my only regrets that i never got a chance to see this band live in all the years of thier existence. Great reaction to 2 brill songs. Jeff loomis is in the premier league of guitarists with the likes of Dimebag, Zakk Wylde, John Petrucci. They were and still are one of my favorites. Sanctuary with Warrel Dane is good too but Nevermore was in a league of it's own.
Their songs is not fastly consumable. Listener should stop and think the philosophy of songs. Listener should be not only just listener also thinker.
Probably Top 3 of the most savagely underrated bands. They should be in the Hall of Fame and I mean every single word.
