Feld has cut everyone’s throat in this sport and they’re laughing all the way to the bank!
Let’s take a guy like Freddy Noren. He’s roughly the 20th best Supercross rider in the premier class. Can you image Freddy’s income verses the 20th best stick and ball player? These guys are some of the best athletes in the world and they are treated like circus freaks by Feld. It’s time for the sport to evolve before it’s too late.
You are making the same argument the WNBA is making.
Supercross brings in FRQCTIONS of the $ the other sports do. It's pretty simple math.

Time for a sponsor that's big enough to come in and start a new series at the heart of the sport. There are plenty of iconic tracks that have been left behind by the current organizations. Money talks. Offer a bigger purse and play the long game. Big bank takes little bank.
Saw 3 semis going west in St. Louis tonight. Twisted, gas gas, liquid moli (beta?). Back to back. Denver bound I assume. This is 2nd time this year saw twisted Suzuki semi, last time I think was after STL race I think it was on 61 north that time.
Allowing riders to film and sell their own merchandise would broaden the reach of the sport. That's the reality of sports in the age of the internet. You simply can't control content distribution as it was back in 1995.

Well said. On the pits idea, show more of pit area time. Getting to see the pit atmosphere with Weege, Matt Burkeen, etc., it makes the sport relatable. That's the second best part of a motocross weekend, meeting riders, teams, and fans wondering the pits. Why not let a team record and make money for themselves, and make the sport more accessible for those that can't make it

Pretty sure larger and factory teams are just a marketing expense for the larger companies/sponsors? Its about tax write offs etc? The model is not designed to make money.
Smaller privateer teams etc is different
I agree. Might make sense for them to do a F1 type scenario where they get paid out based on the team finishes but yea it’s not a place to get rich
@@trevorodom1930 professional racing is generally just a facade. The real motive for factory teams and brands is R&D? Which is probably how they can write it off on tax etc? Brand sponsors it probably comes under "donations" which are generally tax free? If you're a worldwide manufacturer or major brand it is not about a immediate return on investment

I was at the Philly round last night, and the mercy was terrible and expensive $80 a long sleeve t shirt. Would have loved a Cody Shock shirt. It really hit me at the race like this is a crazy machine.
The merch at the races are insane even $40 for a T-shirt is nuts $140 or something like that for a supercross jacket is absurd
And the available merch is HORRIBLE

100%!!! The fact that guys like Moranz are forbidden from selling merch to fund their program is ridiculous! These guys are working their tails off and are punished by Feld and MX Sports. Without them it’s a 10 person gate. Dumb!!! But then again, we’re talking about Feld and Mx Sports. The two worst things to happen to professional sports ever. Even DMG buying road racing wasn’t as bad.
How about the nickel and diming for Loretta’s related events?!?! They are pricing families out of the sport which isn’t good for anyone. But as long as Feld and MX Sports keeps getting their money…

This has been going on for decades. i raced the indoor and outdoor series in the 90's and it was happening then.

Similar thing happened in Indy Racing League back in the late '90's...one driver with a private team had Jacuzzi brand spa's as his sponsor. Car looked great, good for the sport...well John Menard threatened Jacuzzi that if they did not switch their sponsor money over to his team they would not be selling their hottubs in any Menard's store anywhere....so there went that drivers sponsor, who got only a small decal on the Menard cars and the other team went bankrupt.

It could easily be done better if feld and mxsports weren't so fukkin greedy. Sx sold for 300 million dollars. Theres obviously money somewhere yet riders still pay entry fees.
Just like drag racing every single big or little sticker on that bike and semi rig pays some kind of contengency every time i won a drag race every single sticker on my car paid some kind of contegency 10 to 200 dollars or free product. A case of spark plugs would go a long way
And I’m sure some of the factories are to blame on why feld and pro mx act the way they do

It’s an easy solution, especially for Supercross, the riders need to band together and refuse to race unless their reasonable demands are met! The fans and the promoters will not stand for only the Factory racers 12-16 to show up! I hate to say it, but the riders are their own worst enemies for not standing up to the Bullshit on how they are not respected!
The guys filling the starting lines have a less than 1% shot of ever gaining a factory ride! So what do they possibly have to lose by sticking together and demanding respect?
All that's good, but until you make a pro spec class that even the smallest shop in Idaho can afford to race in you won't have parity . Two strokes less money to rebuild more races between rebuilds if your a privateer 300's 250's 125's are more exciting more close racing etc . For example a small 3000 Sf shop can take a 3 year old bike turn it into a spec bike and have a damn chance if they have the rider . The sport has taken all the opportunity's ie cash tv deals etc and left the shops and privateers ass out simple .

My company many years ago was a major sponsor for a high up sportsman, I got promised loads of things and a return on the investment, now what I was told and what I got was ZERO, they take your money and promise amazing things and then you are swept up under the carport and forgotten until it’s time to renew the sponsorship again, once bitten was enough for me, never again.

Why not have officially licensed gear, that the riders get a piece of like other pro sports? Riders need to use collective bargaining to leverage their compensation

Davey should be ashamed, how quickly he forgot how tough it is to be a privateer. Riders need to form a union, the riders are the show. Pay them or the riders need to walk away. AMA, FELD are running the sport, I think the sport has gotten worse with GREED. CROOKS, EXPOITING SLAVE LABOR.
Feld is doing nothing wrong. It’s a free market and lower budget teams choose to participate. The lower budget teams should stick together and boycott a couple of races. If feld wants a field of 6 or 8 factory bikes on the gate, let them do it. You either participate and shut up and quit whining or take action!!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸
