I had a pretty good feeling Mike was SA’d. If it were simply just the hitting, then it would make more sense if he was scared if people rose their voices or put up their arms towards him. Being scared of physical contact completely? Yea. Also I like that Mike has my thought process somewhat. That people have choices. William chose to he neglectful. Terrance chose to snap at Mike. Mike chooses to never ask for help, etc. Choices are simply a part of things that happen. The belief that simply, even though you are the victim in a situation, there are choices that leg to said situation you chose. You still have to take that small amount of responsibility. Mike simple takes to much, it takes to little.

Alex has strong determination to protect Mike, to keep him safe. To be there for him. But at what cost does this come in? Heartbreak when Mike lies about himself, and burning himself out. We need to appreciate the effort Alex puts in and acknowledge what he’s done! I understand Evan, sometimes the pity someone gives you is what fuels your anger and makes you want to prove yourself. It makes you upset when someone thinks of you as a weak, little kid. You want to actually be strong, brave! You want to prove them wrong! But sometimes this is something that you might regret because of how anger changes you… I’m sure a group of us had our theories for this one, and ima be honest my first thought was that he got SA’d. The position in which he was touched in the “Aftons fact their fears” gave me that thought. One thing I would advise Alex though, Although I have not gone through this myself so, take what I say with a grain of salt.That the more you try to get someone to open up about SA the more they’ll try to avoid the question or from talking about it, because I have heard some stories where the victim will usually tend to blame themselves for something that was out of their control especially if it was whilst under the influence of alcohol (not all cases though I must add),In my end I don’t think Alex can help him the way he thinks. But this my opinion on this, I think the only way to help him is by having ether professional help or by talking to his parents maybe (his choice tho), another thing I noticed is that Michael self-blames himself whenever something goes wrong or for what happened to him or anyone else e.g blames himself for Evan’s death which was nobody’s fault because nobody knew what would happen, and the SA which he also didn’t know would be what would happen once he was under the influence of alcohol, it’s a repeating behaviour I had a suspicion of.
Another note I’d like to add here is that I know the reason he won’t open up is because he knows Alex will tell Naomi and others about it and he doesn’t want to be pitied for it (though this is speculation but this is a small theory on why he closes up when talking about it), and then getting angry at him won’t help Alex, I think it just makes the situation worse in my opinion because then he’ll also blame himself for him being upset and think “Well great now you’ve upset him idiot” (something along the lines), I think Mrs.Afton in my opinion should be the one to talk to Michael or even William (Though I doubt that but it would help him to bond with Michael maybe?). This is gonna sound dumb but what if Mike got given something small he can hold/store in his pocket and if he's feeling down or anxious instead of having to verbally tell someone he can just show them. He could even hide the fact he's reaching out for help by simply saying "how cool is this little guy?" Or a bracelet he can flip over to show he isn't feeling great. I'm suggesting these as they were the tools that somewhat helped me start braving asking for help I still spiral beforehand and wait ages to do so but I do ask for help in a few classes and elsewhere.

Coming back to watch this and, Evan's thoughts in the beginning of "why does he always say what I want to hear?" and the simplest answer is that, usually for things like abuse of that nature, or even just to avoid people prying or looking deeper into things, generally the fastest way to redirect conversation or end conversations like that, is to say what the other party wants to hear (Michael blaming himself for everything, means that he doesn't get screamed at by Evan about how everything is his fault, for instance). I've been going back and rewatching a bunch of the older videos, and thinking on them more as well as with some context from future videos, the picture it paints between Evan and Michael just keeps getting more and more fucked, and honestly? Most of it isn't even Michael's fault. Now, Michael isn't blameless, absolutely not, but the intentions behind their actions and how they respond to everything show a clear difference. Yes, Michael bullied and ended up killing Evan, but on the other hand, how much of the fault for that rests on Michael's shoulders? An older sibling bullying their younger sibling, especially to that degree, shows continuous and sever failures on the parts of the parents (why does the older kid feel the need to bully the younger one, why was no one watching Evan on his own birthday, why did the parents never actually try to fix the issue instead of applying punitive measures, the list goes on.) On the other hand, Evan tormenting Michael was done out of genuine malice, he may not have wanted Michael dead, but he was willing to torture Michael with, and let's run down the list here: Evan's death, making Michael believe he was crazy, constant nightmares, torturing him with Naomi's suicide/death (by making him see and believe that she was there, and that she still cared for him, then ripping it all away with either having the illusion of Naomi turn on Michael and start blaming him, or even just dropping the illusion entirely, just to make the loss hit Michael again all at once) and probably others that I'm forgetting right now. Beyond that, at this point, Michael still blames himself for everything, believes that he can't be a victim through whatever justification he finds for the situation at hand, (his death was 'deserved' for what he did to Evan, can't be SA'd because he's a guy, etc) and instead makes himself out to be the one in the wrong in every situation.
And there's the time i didn't want to be right. I'm so sorry for all of they. Specially, sorry Chris. Yes, Michael bullied and ended up killing Evan, but on the other hand, how much of the fault for that rests on Michael's shoulders? An older sibling bullying their younger sibling, especially to that degree, shows continuous and sever failures on the parts of the parents (why does the older kid feel the need to bully the younger one, why was no one watching Evan on his own birthday, why did the parents never actually try to fix the issue instead of applying punitive measures, the list goes on.)
On the other hand, Evan tormenting Michael was done out of genuine malice, he may not have wanted Michael dead, but he was willing to torture Michael with, and let's run down the list here: Evan's death, making Michael believe he was crazy, constant nightmares, torturing him with Naomi's suicide/death (by making him see and believe that she was there, and that she still cared for him, then ripping it all away with either having the illusion of Naomi turn on Michael and start blaming him, or even just dropping the illusion entirely, just to make the loss hit Michael again all at once) and probably others that I'm forgetting right now.
Beyond that, at this point, Michael still blames himself for everything, believes that he can't be a victim through whatever justification he finds for the situation at hand, (his death was 'deserved' for what he did to Evan, can't be SA'd because he's a guy, etc) and instead makes himself out to be the one in the wrong in every situation.
