Thanks for watching and great to see you! Check out Great Lake Supply Co. for all of the SAS-TEC armor mentioned → greatlakesupplyco.com/collections/motorcycle-armor
Great video, Meghan. Very clear explanation of CE level 1 and level 2 armor and pointing out the differences. Info I always wanted to learn more about and finally did. Thanks!
I’m a fan of the description and the way you delivered the most important information about the safety accessories. Great presentation. Thank you, team. ❤❤
Just pre-ordered the ultra-thin triple flex few days ago/buy all my SAS-TEC armor from you. Great video/a topic that is lacking information! Hands down the most comfortable armor; as you said, you barely even notice the level-1 are there. Only downside is that they are prone to cracking in-between the 'nodes'/not the most durable armor, but that's a trade-off worth making IMO for how comfortable they are.
1:16 Wow, thank you so much. I indeed was wearing them the wrong way around. When I removed them I did see it says "Outside" on the non-textured side meaning it should point outwards, I completely missed that. - Wearing the Pando Moto base layers with the Phantom air protectors (level 1, thinking of upgrading to level 2).
Thank you very much for this. Really good video. As a writer I spent at least it doesn't hours before landing on the SAS pads myself. It's also weird but I do some mediaeval armoured combat as well, and a begun experimenting with using these pads in that setting. Knowing that the level one back protector is the same thickness as the level 2 joint protectors is really helpful information, because it means I can buy those and cut them to different shapes. Thank you very much.
Hey Meghan. Just throwing this out there, but have you thought about doing a video about how you started your company? I think it could be an inspiration to some people.
awesome, my current jacket has all the level 1 sastec armor and i absolutly love it, but iwould like to uprade, im glad youre carrying it, plaus id like to pick up some stuff for moto jeans too !
Hey I had just one question, is there something for the lower half of the body that acts like a sleeve, the same way your mesh jacket does?? Im new to motorcycle riding. Thank you, great video. Very informative!
I just ordered some armor from your store. I've had it less than 7 weeks I believe and once is already cracked and ripping. They've been installed in a Leather Jacked the Merlin Gable. I'm pretty disappointed because I have another set on order due to come in this Monday. It's good stuff but man...already cracking and ripping and hasn't seen anything close to a wreck or fall.
Hi there, that's unusual! What direction did you install the pads? The fabric side should face the road and the textured side should face the body. The opposite direction puts strain on them. We can absolutely send you a replacement pair for the ones that are cracking, go ahead and email us a photo.
It depends on the protection zone. It sounds like your referencing the numbers required for CE level 2 back protectors, which are more strict than joint protection
Are the sizes and shapes universal across jacket and pant manufacturers? If not can they be cut to fit or will that defeat their purpose? I would love to upgrade with these products.
You should always measure the pockets that you have available because there will be variations across manufacturers. That being said, these do work for a large variety of jackets and pants! I recommend looking at the exact dimensions on our site and estimate a bit of extra room for the protector's depth.
How many of the MotoGP riders use this? I did the old test with a frying pan using all this clever protections...hitting knees, elbow, shoulders. I don't want to be comfortable, I want to be protected! I will stick to the hard shell protection
I’m sorry, I bought all of them, they’re really lightweight but I don’t know if they’ll really protect me in case of a accident, also most these pants or jackets with inserts is not standard to fit any kinda armor protection, I really don’t recommend them, they don’t let me ride comfortable, I’m 6.2 tall -250 pounds riding a softail, now I’m gonna to spend more money and time to get something that really works

Hey all, my husband and I both have a set that we purchased from Great Lake Supply Co and we LOVE IT! Best armor we’ve ever had.
So happy to hear!
It's being sold here in The Netherlands, it's truly great protection!
Waar kan ik dit kopen?
Ty for the info for direction of the pads

Oooh, the fabric on the outside. I never knew that?
I'm sure of two things.
1. That's not how the manufacturer intended it.
2. It doesn't really matter.

Yes! It was very comprehensive, thanks M.. Interesting, I'll definitely be buying these when next up for armour. 🙏
loved how informative this video was!
Now that there are so thin and flexible level 2 protectors, there should be a level 3 certification for better protection.
Right, I feel like it will hurt more than thicker protectors

Thank you! At last someone says which way round the armour goes! Even buying garments with the armour and no info.
Glad to help!
I like how there are a number of options. 👍
Received my first set of these and like them so much I ordered 2 more set for other gear!
Thank you for the información
Good information. Most videos are nothing more than a replay of the manufacturer’s talking points.
Great review! I just ordered a set of these off your website. Can't wait to get them but hope I never have to test them!

great breakdown
Can you notch the level 2 elbow armor?
Do these harden on impact?

Can it come with Velcro?
Is it fine if it cracks? some of mine have cracks in them :/

@@MeghanStark I'll do that today. I had fabric side facing out. Thank you for the reply!
@@MeghanStark Thank you for such a quick reply! I will take some photos and send an Email today as soon as I can.
I though level 2 kN limits were around 9-12 max?

just started the process, I'm a vespa rider and I still worry about someone not paying attention!!!

Does anyone know some knee protectors that use these thin SAS-TEC L2 pads? Can't find anything.
bumpy side facing out or inside ?
That should actually be facing inside! Fabric side facing out, "elements" facing towards the body according to SAS-TEC
What side go close to the skin?
The textured side (also called the elements). The fabric side faces the road. I go over this at 01:24
