    Thank you, Tom, I am forever grateful for inviting Tim. After watching your show, I ran to the bookshop for the book ( had to wait 2 weeks for it because I am in UK at the moment) but it has literally changed my life. In one of your AMA sessions you mentioned it is important to have self-awareness and that book just lights up every corner of the Matrix. And I would have never looked for that book because I am a girl that is not interested in sports or basketball (and also not american) so I had zero interest in NBA and learning how the great ball players train. But this book literally was what I was looking for but could not put in words. Thank you, so much for your effort and incredible content.

    Some of portion of success has to do with luck, and there is no 'soul', so he doesn't have the ability to peer into them.

    • @TomBilyeuClassics
      @TomBilyeuClassics  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would agree, success as in for early wins has luck involved. We are all born the same way, but what happens to us when we are taken to our new home is where the differnce starts. Our surroundings, how we are guided during life, all the stuff that happens to us. All the opportunities that were missed because we just didn't know any better.
      But I think the real question comes down to, what we do from here. There are still plenty of opportunities still left available in the future. There is nothing we can do about our past, only what lies ahead. It's easy to look at others and see how they got all the right things happened for them, and just lined right up. But it wasn't without hard work that they got there, even if things lined up just perfectly for them.
      The past is the easiest to criticize because it gives us time to reflect, like that of a good story, the future not so much. Believe me I have sat here many times in envy of other's early wins, and how they were guided down the right path, to become who they became.
      But I would also imagine that they didn't know who they either, they just kept pressing on, till something happened for them. It's hard to know where all of this is going, and if it actually means anything if you do end up making it to a defined level of success.
      Who are you? and who do you want to be? I think those are the biggest questions that must be answered. Without a clear vision, we aimlessly wonder around looking at everyone else, yearning to be something. I think the answer is in each of us, if we just take the time to find it.
      I think life hits so hard at times, and if we are not prepared for it, we get blind sided and we never get to find that thing, that's in us all.
      What does it mean to become great? How do I view myself? I can look at all these differnt people as see their greatness. And it's all differnt, in many differnt ways. One thing for sure is that I can not measure my life, to their standard, we do not share the same path. The only thing I can be grateful for is, that they did get their early wins, they did become something, they did find their greatness. And now they are willing to share that with me.
      They are only but a guide light, to light up my own path. Before them, I was stumbling around in the dark, not knowing what way to go, aimlessly lost. But now I can see a many differnt paths to take, many differnt opportunities.
      I know I didn't answer your question, I just ended up talking to myself.

    • @Snackay
      @Snackay 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Apparently, the human brain's favorite subject is itself. It likes having thoughts about self more than money and food, and that seems like something of a trap, because the more we think about ourselves, the more self-centered we may be, which is not good for relating to others.
