    My son works at Boot Barn so there are times he can get Cody James for 60% off. That's a stupid good deal. I have a pair from their "Blue Collection", I think that is their higher end line. They are the BBH3, made in Mexico. They are honestly the best pair of boots I have ever owned and I've had quite a few from every major brand.

    Just bought a pair today. Very comfortable. Don’t know if they’ll last as long as my ariats (8 years)

    Are these sized like Ariats? Meaning, what ever size you wear in Ariat, get Cody James in the same size? I wear 9 1/2 D in Dan Post and Lucchese, but I wear a 9D in Ariats. I would like to order a pair of Cody James, I just don't know what size to get. How do those Cody James compare to your Ariats? Would you get them in the same size? Thanks!

    Lucas white is right about the shaft being to wide. I have a pair of ostrich square toe and I have to wear wide jeans so I don't look like a dork. They're comfy, but nothing like luccheses or tecovas. And I'm pretty sure the heel is made of wood instead of leather. I got them on clearance for $200

      Hey not a bad price though! Yeah I forgot the mention the wide shaft. Thanks for watching man!

    Had these boots for 1 1/2 years. Best boot I've ever had. Try to go get the same ones. Only had square toe. So I bought something different. that was round toe their fault for not giving me what I want

    I have the Cody James Python boots. They are very comfortable. They smell like leather. They have pull tabs. I have had them for six months. The Boot Barn say they are made at the Dan Post plant in Mexico. The soles are nailed on They have white stitching. They say made in Mexico stamped inside them. They are very comfortable

    Any advice on getting a size? I wear a 10.5 regularly in tennis shoes and this would be a first pair of cowboy boots

    • @LoneStarBootReviews
      @LoneStarBootReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd start with 9.5
      One size down is the general rule. You may not wear thst size but that's what I'd start with. If you live close to a boot barn I'd go there and try on a bunch. But if not try a 9.5

      @@LoneStarBootReviews thanks! I have a tractor supply and redwing store near me. I’ll go there and ask for some general advice! Thank you! How are the boots holding up so far since 9 months has past?

    • @LoneStarBootReviews
      @LoneStarBootReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually sent those back because they were too big but they were nice and I would expect then to hold up just fine. They were on par with ariat and they are very durable

      I wear a 10 1/2 shoe. For Cody james soft toe I can wear an 8 1/2 or 9. Just fight through the break in period. I do a lot of online shopping and just bought a safety toe in 8 1/2 which was way to small. I went with a 9 1/2. Like he Said. Generality 1 full size down.

      @@mundane4082 bought a pair of Cody James off boot barn and I ended up moving on from them. Hard as a rock, moved on to a leather sole pair and love em.

    Good review. These are probably made at the same Chinese factory as the ariats. The shafts look really wide and definitely make your jeans stick out

    • @LoneStarBootReviews
      @LoneStarBootReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I did notice that but forgot to mention it. Would be good for tucking in jeans. Also they were a little big so a smaller size might reduce that a little. As always thsnks for watching buddy!

  • @lostmichigantapes
    @lostmichigantapes 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It's literally almost the same boot as the ariat quickdraw because of the toe and the toe bug and the heel the shaft and the sole is the only thing different

    • @LoneStarBootReviews
      @LoneStarBootReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. According to the info i could find, Durango makes Cody James. But if I didn't know that, I would swear this boot was made by ariat. Thanks for watching!

  • @z1522
    @z1522 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Made in China, the leather is likely not very good, and "finished" to make it look like a full grain hide. Liners, even uppers, may be coated or even vinyl - the same mistake old Acme boots made years ago, when they still had decent full leather soled riding boots with wooden pegs. The shape of cheap boots just look clunky, and standard work boots with rubber soles are probably a better option to the cowboy conceit.

    I got these in a 8.5. I usually wear 9 in shoes. Do u think theyll be way too small

    • @LoneStarBootReviews
      @LoneStarBootReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      FIrst of all, thanks for watching! Second, I think that will probably be just fine. With these wide square toes you have so much room in the toe box, plus people usually wear a smaller size in boots than they do in shoes.

    • @bennicks6821
      @bennicks6821 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for response. Is the color way on these the Xero Gravity Chocolate Western Boots . The colors looked much more vibrant in the photo on sheplers website. Maybe they just use good lighting. The colors seemed to pop more but like em regardless

    • @LoneStarBootReviews
      @LoneStarBootReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bennicks6821 If I remember correctly, I would say its somewhere in between. You are correct, Sheplers uses really good lighting and professional photographers. I have bad lighting and am not professional lol. I am working on my lighting to hopefully get a better representation here in the near future. Im just tightening everything up now.
