    This was SO helpful dude. Literally the only TH-cam vid that told me “how” to plant the darn seeds! All the other posts seem to be privileged people who think I need to know how to plant an established seeding in the ground. Waste of time they were. Followed along to your vid & now I wait for my seedlings. That cinnamon trick is cool.

    Thank u for the tutorial, I definately ENJOYED IT AND GAINED MORE KNOWLEDGE. In South Africa, spring started 01 September and we are now mid October, is it not late to plant watermelons? Summer will officially end next year February. Can I still plant Watermelons and Pumpkins still, One and half month from spring?

    • @GrowSomethingTasty
      @GrowSomethingTasty  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Chris, I don't know because I don't know how the climate is. I can tell you to look up your last frost date and start seeds 2 or 3 weeks before last frost date. Now I'm sure its going to get more cold snaps after the last frost date. So it could be 2 to 3 weeks after my last frost date b4 it's safe to take them out. The weather is crazy now. That will be your best bet, and think about the previous season when it was safe to plant. Last year, it was around April 15 through the 20th for me even though the last frost date was the 1st.

      @GrowSomethingTasty love your channel and you are very knowledgeable. however I have to clear up one thing. happy frog does not contain a lot of nutrients. their ocean forest soil is actually considered their soil with nutrients. however happy frog is definitely better for starting plants in because it isn't "hot". that is why you are having great results with it. please don't take this as disrespectful I love learning and exchanging knowledge. 🙏🏾

    Mr Bear Brown, can I grow watermelon seeds from store bought watermelon? If so, how is it done? I saw someone who says don’t soak the seeds because it can cause fungus and another said for store bought watermelon seeds from watermelon, that I have to wait until next spring to plant them. What do you say?

    • @GrowSomethingTasty
      @GrowSomethingTasty  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe you can grow from the seeds from a store bought watermelon. I never tried it but I don't know why you have to wait. I planted those pineapple plants from the tops of the pineapple and the plant took. I soak my seeds for 3 or 4 hours and nothing happens. If you leave the seeds there for days it could get nasty. This is just to wake the seeds up to help with germination. I say try it and see what happens.

    • @GrowSomethingTasty
      @GrowSomethingTasty  ปีที่แล้ว

      HELLO Guess Who, I used a quarter inch hardware cloth. I screwed wood together the size I wanted. You just 2 pieces the same size and another 2 pieces the same size. However long you want it. Then, pick the sizes of the frame that's level the most and lay the hardware cloth on it. I used roofing nails 1" long. I use the roofing nail because of the size head on them. That pins the cloth down, but some people use a heavy-duty stapler. That's all I did.

      @GrowSomethingTasty  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @rawhoney2199 Hey, it's now a bother. I start my melon seeds about 3 to 5 weeks before the last frost. So my frost date is normally April 1, so I'll do it 4 weeks out. 2 years ago, we had frost until April 17th, and it was hard. My melon plants were growing everywhere. So check your last frost date and count back. Now my tomatoes and peppers take a long time to grow, so I'm going to start them as soon as they get here.
