Strange comments on what I think is brilliant new design from Aquila. It ticks all the boxes. It is 52foot but feels like a 60 ft boat. I had a 44 which was a nice boat but was limited on space amd range for my use.I think for a mid price luxury ocean going power cat this will be a very popular choice. I am still waiting engine room drawings but they are much larger physicaly than the 44. Also they have a large removable hatch for taking in and out equipment saving deck damage and a regular access hatch for day to day. They will have a hybrid and foil version in the future and so the engine room is large enough to cope with those options.

I am curious what the range is? My biggest complaint with the 44 is its designed as a charter boat and has very little range. The 54 is better but not great.
The instrumentation was not calibrated during our test... which you can find here: www.multihulls-world.com/review/motor/aquila-50-yacht-a-nacelle-with-an-owner-s-cabin
Wandering hillbilly had an Aquila 54. He had tied off to a mooring ball and the connection from the mooring ball to the anchor broke when they went to dinner and his boat ran aground. For full details just go to his channel.
His 54 got totaled when it ran aground after his mooring ball broke loose in the BVI. Makes me leery of Aquilas. I love their layout and design but all their running gear is hanging out below he hull with little to no protection.

I was wondering the same thing. Fuel capacity seems on the light side to make long passages. But maybe few owners use them in this manner🤷♂️
Whatever happened to the Wandering Hillbilly guy who was video recording his adventurous trips with his new Aquila 50?????
He no longer has his boat
