This made me think a little:
They were granted what they wanted to most/desired the most right? So, maybe I'm overthinking and they just wanted to be kids again or, they wanted a good childhood. But since it only lasted a day? It would be impossible to make them relive a childhood and, in that make it good OR, they wanted to be small cause of something that happend a little before they where 5 so, they just wanted to relive what it felt like before whatever happens. It's kinda the same thing but yea-. Idk even know if there was a reason but, here's what I thought :)
What I thought was that they missed each other because their adults and don’t see each other too often so they both wished that they’d go back to being kids when they where constantly with each other and saw each other because they missed that
