Hello Robert great video. To add to your comment to Proxmox relating to licences, Proxmox should realize that home lab users are the one source of free advertisement that proxmox will get. Many of the homelabs users are either discussing with their boss their co-worker or friend about proxmox .This i9s the best and most efficient and effective advertisement one could get
Great video, thanks for posting! In 8.1.4, mine also had a debian/ceph-quincy repository that I had to do the same thing to get rid of the error. I appreciate your knowledge.
I agree 100% with the comments to the Proxmox developers, very good recommendation. Also, this change for the repository video was very useful, thanks.
First, Thank you for the simple video to get this fixed, Second, I love the idea of some sort of Home Lab user license. This would be something that I would pay if it was affordable, Just for the belief that Free is not a good business model and the developers deserve something to help reduce the price to maintain this wonderful product!
Awesome video, straight and to the point. I do have one question though, under repositories, I have 2 that are from the enterprise repository. 1 is pve-enterprise.list, the other is ceph.list. I disabled both to not get any errors and enabled the no subscription, was that the right move?
Oh man this video makes nme remember when I bought a licese for a year! Lifetime was for like 30% more! But as the idiotic person I am I got a one year license or somethink like that, thinking that I'll try it out for a few months before I know if I want it or not. When I visited Plex (Even logged into my account to check on how much lifetime would costr me like today and the price nearly made me faint like in The Simpsons etc. Great vid as always my man !!!
Your presentation is clear, but unfortunately I do not get any other repositories when I use: updates -> repositories -> add So I had to enable the enterprise version to get updates. Sincerely yours, Peter
You should see the no-subscription repo. After you change any repos make sure to hit reload on the repo page too. To ensure you have latest repos. The no-sub one might be labeled enterprise also. But it’s called no-subscription. Let me know how you get on
Thank you for the video. Robert, But i dont have that option under "updates" running on 6.4.4 . Should update but scared as running homeassistant setup. Is there a way to update proxmos to the latest version without breaking HA setup ? Looking forward to your reply
You could run a backup of the VMs and then test it out. As long as your VM is backed up and some other place you can import them back later. Proxmox has a good backup system. But it should not get in the way. Updating Proxmox. I update all the time. Run regular backups. And if something goes wrong I roll it back. Happened just once and it was my own fault.
@@mintymus Thanks for the comment. I try my best. I never had issues with Proxmox updates so far. But I always try to be cautious, so my VMs sit on a TrueNAS scale raid array on different storage drives
I agree. I would be willing a to pay a smaller fee per year for my home lab setup just to get the updates without the nag screens and no pro support. Being retired, one has even less funds to spend. I would pay $25.00 Canadian.
It is not broken, but you will get errors accessing the enterprise repo's and the updates will fail. Security updates should pass though but lately my entire update system has stopped. Unless you have a subscription it will not work. It is not a good UI or default option. So while it isnt broken, its functioning as "intended" which is not good for those without subscription.
If you also would like to provide input for Proxmox Developers then do leave it in this comment thread here. Id love to hear your feedback on this.

Thanks for the comment and support and glad it helped.
thank you for the video, much easier this way than the instructions via CLI that I have tried to follow!
You're welcome! I’m glad it helped :)
Amazing video I was stuck with this for a long time. Liked and subbed!
Awesome
Thanks and glad it helped

That’s fine. The ceph of you use it. But that’s fine to me.
Thank you Robert! Been trying to fix this but it wasnt obvious....newbie me.
Not a noob thing, it’s a little obscure so give yourself more credit. But glad it helped also :)

Thanks for your video. it helped me a lot.

Glad to hear that :)
Another great, helpful video. Thanks!

@@RobertMizen Really appreciate your videos. Have you ever had problems with an update not being stable or otherwise damaging Proxmox?
@@mintymus Thanks for the comment. I try my best. I never had issues with Proxmox updates so far. But I always try to be cautious, so my VMs sit on a TrueNAS scale raid array on different storage drives
Hi, i have a proxmox license. is there a way to get the Updates working through apt-cacher ?
Good question, not tried but i imagine so.
I agree. I would be willing a to pay a smaller fee per year for my home lab setup just to get the updates without the nag screens and no pro support. Being retired, one has even less funds to spend. I would pay $25.00 Canadian.
Yeah I think also it would be good to support the company for development.
Is it possible to turn off auto-updates for proxmox?
Yeah, i mean you just do not update. They are default manual anyway.
I thought this was normal and that everything still works despite the "error" message. Are you saying proxmox is broken out of the box?
It is not broken, but you will get errors accessing the enterprise repo's and the updates will fail. Security updates should pass though but lately my entire update system has stopped.

Any video on how to set up ssh remote access on proxmox
@@festusbest1009 You have access to that via the web UI also. Can just open a shell in the GUI and you have console access.
Thank you, when I click the add button nothing happens.
so its all good? the comment confused me lol
@@RobertMizen Actually no, I have the repository repo enabled but when I click add button nothing happens.
@@AhmedMSsaleh Community one enabled? (if so, then hit refresh above that). Also disable the enterprise one so no conflicts
@@RobertMizen only the enterprise
@@AhmedMSsaleh You need to enable the community one and disable the enterprise one. Then refresh
hey
If it would be 50€ a year, i would pay for sure...
50 seems a high but acceptable amount to me
