I enjoy your video’s they are as real as you can get .
joe schuster thanks. I appreciate the feedback. Don’t know what you’ll make of today’s video that does up later this afternoon 😂 hope you enjoy it 👍
I bought the Braun series 9 to shave my head a few days ago and it's just amazing. I decided to go with the S9 because from the comments, it's a smoother shave. You also mentionned that the S9 could shave longer hair and I don't like to shave everyday (3 days approx.). I know the Arc5 might be more powerfull and give a closer shave, from the comments it seems a little bit harsh on the skin and can give rash. I don't want that. The S9 is perfect in my opinion so far.
Before, I used to shave my head with a foil shaver (babyliss pro) and it was very harsh. It pulled hair and I had to go over several times to shave everything off, it basically hurt. The S9 is much faster and better experience.
That’s good to hear. My girlfriend likes me with stubble or a short beard. If I were buying again I’d buy the braun9 as I no longer require a really close shave.
Glad to hear you are happy and thanks for posting such a detailed comment 👍
I have been a double edge blade shaver for approximately 40 years. I believe I have sensitive skin and coarse facial hair(subject to ingrown hairs causing razor bumps). I went to my skin doctor and he advised me to switch to an electric razor. I informed him that I tried one and it didn't work very well. He asked me when was the last time I tried an electric razor and I told him about 30 years ago. He laughed and said that they've come a long way. So he told me to try the Philips Rotary shaver but I didn't like the complicated monthly cleaning regimen and having to switch heads to trim side-burns. Anyway, I read a number of reviews which stated the Panasonic ES-LV65 shaved closer but may cause more ingrown hairs and skin irritation. Because of this I opted for the Braun 9 (9295cc)series which offered a more comfortable shave especially if you were prone to ingrown hairs.
Good choice 👍 I have some more videos in my shaving playlist on my channel. I said pretty much the same as what you wrote 😊 enjoy your shaver, modern ones are amazing!
I have both the new versions of the arc 5 and philip prestige. At first the arc had a bit of irritation to the face but after a few times it seems very comfortable and no more irritation. The prestige was not close enough for me, very disappointed with that especially the neck. It seem to not do wel on neck. But the prestige runs almost silent which is nice, you barely can hear it. Now the arc was quicker, closer, better on neck, some irritation at first but after a few times, none at all. Sound level is loud but im fine with it.
Thanks for commenting. Appreciate the updated information. I guess the braun would still be best for people wanting a stubble look after shaving. Good to hear the new arc5 is still shaving close 👍
I bought the Panasonic Arc5 ( I was fortunate enough to find the ES-LV9N model) and the Braun Series 9 about 2 months ago. After letting my face get used to the razors (I came straight from DE wet shaving), there's no contest. At least for my face, the Arc5 is quicker, more efficient, cuts closer, and just feels better on my face. The Braun definitely feels more abrasive and generates more heat than the Arc5. And I can always go over the Braun Series 9 side with the Arc5 and get closer. Can't say the same for the Series 9. Don't get me wrong - the Series 9 is a sweet machine, and if I'd never tried the Arc5 I'd probably be perfectly happy with the Braun. But I did, and the Arc5 does it for me. Also, I tried several pre-electric shave lotions (Speick, Afta, Lectric Shave, Labs Series, and a brand from Israel called Freelette). Give the Freelette a shot if you haven't already - for my face, at least, it's head & shoulders above the others. And thanks for the awesome video, my friend - it makes me laugh!
Steve Payne thanks man. You summed up my findings too. The arc5 is better for a closer shave 😊 I don’t tend to use pre shave or any shaving gel, creams, foams etc as for me it kinda takes away from the convenience of an electric shaver, which is just pick it up and go. Though I will try one now after your recommendation just to see 😊 thanks. Have a great day.
I’ve seen this comment a few times already under Panasonic vs Braun videos . Looks like fake feedback)
Same for me Panasonic does it perfect. My skin is too sensitive, and it does a perfect job! Cheers!
@@vladkopaihorodsky3614 you're fake feedback.
@@stevepayne3076 lol, don't you think people can google?
I've own the Panasonic Arc3 ES-LT41 since 2015 and just got my Arc5 ES-LV95-S. Wow, I was SUPER impressed with the 5 blades and how close it shaved when compared to the Arc3 ES-LT41
Nice to hear it’s such an improvement.
@@experiment54 Hello ;), quick question, I own a Braun series 9 pro, I usually shave my head every 2 to 3 days, and I'm actually satisfied with the result, but I'm considering whether I should get the Panasonic Arc 6...
Does it shave much closer than the Brauns series 9 pro and also smoother? since I have very sensitive skin in the back of my neck.. would it be worth replacing or not, better to wait for the Braun series 10? greetings stephan ;)
Something seemed a little off when he said the ARC5 was more expensive than the series 9. Its the other way around by a wide margin. The ARC5's price blows Braun out of the water. I was a long time Braun guy until I saw the price of the Series 9 (about $300 on Amazon) compared to the ARC5 price of about $160 on Amazon. I bought my ARC5 without the cleaning station for about $120. I love this razor, what a nice shave. Braun lost me as a customer.
MikeLynO i was talking about when I purchased the braun9. It was just out. They both were new. A couple years ago now. Prices change. Hope that clears things up.
how do you compare the shave between the two?
man i know this vid is 5 yr old have you tried williams letric shave idk if they sell it in the uk but it does stand the hair up for electric razors
Sorry nope not tried that.
I've just bought the arc 5 after watching your video. You do great honest videos, thank you.
One question: is it better wet or dry? Thanks.
Steven Richards thanks for the feedback 👍
Personally I like to use it dry because I like to sit and watch TH-cam whilst shaving. Sometimes if my skin and/or hair is dry it won’t shave as easy and fast so then a wet shave would get closer.
I just don’t enjoy the fuss and mess of a wet shave so I shave dry.
Hope that helps 😊
@@experiment54 thank you ❤️
Hi, experiment54. Do you find the Arc 5 a bit bulky? Thanks for the video.
Nope. The braun9 is more bulky but that doesn’t mean uncomfortable. Arc5 is light and feels like a precision instrument.
Hello experiment54, quick question, I own a Braun series 9 pro, I usually shave my head every 2 to 3 days, and I'm actually satisfied with the result, but I'm considering whether I should get the Panasonic Arc 6...
Does it shave much closer than the Brauns series 9 pro and also smoother? since I have very sensitive skin in the back of my neck.. would it be worth replacing or not, better to wait for the Braun series 10? greetings stephan ;)
Hi Stephan, I can’t comment on those models as they are after the ones that I show in my videos. If however they follow the same as the arc5 and Braun series 9 then the arc6 will shave closer in my experience. As to irritation it’s hard to say if a close shave would irritate you more or not. When I was younger, no matter how I shaved or with what I would get irritation under my neck area, I nolonger get irritation as I’ve grown older. It seems my skin has got more tolerant and I can shave quite rough really and anyway really and not have a razor burn or anything. Sorry, I can’t be of more help, but I hope that is helpful?
There are a few more shaving videos in my shaving playlist if you haven’t already seen them.
@@experiment54 thanks for the answer ;) can you use the arc5 cleaning fluid for the new arc 6 for the cleaning station? and does a whole bag of solution have to be in the water of the cleaning station?
@@stephantsv912 I don’t see why you can’t use the arc5 cleaning fluid for arc6. You could also make your own cleaning fluid - 70% water and the rest 30% alcohol plus a few drops of clipper oil (the stuff used to oil blades) it won’t be the same as the Panasonic cleaning solution sachets, but it will work.
Yes, the solution goes in the water, you fill the little base up with the water to the level and then you add the sachet to that.
@@experiment54 thanks :) does the whole solution have to be poured into the water at once? or can the solution also be divided?
Pour it in at once is what the instructions say. It’s what I do. I have never tried splitting it.
You made no sense, and I liked that!
😂😆 thanks 👍
hard to imagine closer than the braun 9... i don't like the sound of the razor burn tho, thats only of the things i love about the braun 9 is how close and smooth it is on the skin
I know right. It’s also way quieter. I’ll do a more further review and comparison once I’ve had some time with it. May only need a week but may wait a little longer just to be sure I cover it properly. I want to be sure it is a closer shave but first impression is it is.
Darren the arc5 is smooth as. Like you say the series 9 leaves you with a sandpaper feeling on the head. The arc 5 does not. Smooth. I speak about this in my other videos about this shaver.
And also works fine on the head? I want a complete bald head and hope the Series 9 saves me from razors... Thanks
I've read the blades go blunt in 6 months on these shavers is it true? I own the bruan series 9 Pro some times I have a skin head and obviously shave my face with it but if this shaves closer than a Pro this would be useful to go over my head and face after I use my bruan series pro..I normally wet shave some may say whats the point in wet shaving it gets the bruan closer plus I suffer with razor burn and full of cuts off manual shaves and I'm one of those one who bleed heavy for hours aftrr a shave so perhaps if I go over my face with a panasonic after I use bruan I won't get razor burn off panasonic since my face hairs will be pretty short off bruan shaver and less time going over over with panasonic
Yes arc5 will shave closer. Much closer. I haven’t had any problem with the blades blunting. Hope that helps.
@experiment54 cheers ..perhaps the ones who complained it went blunt on them in 6 months had really thick beards .I will order one in the week
@@trojanx7723 be interesting to know how you get on with it. Let me know if you feel the same way I do about it shaving closer than the Braun 😊
@experiment54 I will do it will be next week I will order it I forgot I don't get paid this week..I will also test them both on a dry shave and then wet shave .will go into much detail as possible
Can't seem to get this model version of it or the one after that .People told me done get the latest version of this one since they said its a downgrade .probably gonna get the arc 6 instead in a few months .
Do you think they both are good choices for complete head shave? Thank you.
If you shave every day or every other day yes they are good choices. When it grows a little longer they are not so good as it takes too long it seems like a hassle but I don’t know if a head shaver is better or the same. Sorry I can’t be of more help.
Tamim Iqbal sorry I can only recommend what I use. You can see them in the ‘shaving’ playlist on my channel. Hope that’s somewhat helpful 😊
Tamim Iqbal I have a video in the shaver playlist on my channel showing me shave my head. It takes a while with the arc5 if you let it grow. Yes you could shave everyday with it and that would mean it’s faster. Take a look at the video in the playlist shaver on my channel 👍 😊
I cannot tell which razor he is talking about. He will briefly hold up one to the camera but not identify which of the two it is. He is like that repeatedly. He needs to say the same of the razor instead of saying, "this one".
Sorry most people watching the video know which one is which as they’d be buying one or the other. For casual viewing maybe it could have been clearer for people like you, maybe a pop up on screen. Thanks for the feedback.
I've had both, panasonic es lv 65 first i liked it but got a bit of a shaving burn/rash,the shave was so close though, i found it easily as close as a wet shave using a good quality blade like a Gillette maybe even closer as you say it seems to lift the hair then cut plus the blades are at an aggressive angle in the cassette.I sold it and moved onto the braun series 9 which i much prefer it's alot more comfortable shave nearly like massaging your face and for me is far better at shaving longer stubble if you don't shave for a few days, the shave is def not as close but still gives a good shave and is close enough so for me a better all round shaver, but still the panasonic is an awesome bit of kit and if closeness is what you're after then that's the one to get
Thanks for posting. I have some more videos in the shaving playlist on my channel where I say just about if not exactly the same as what you wrote 😊
It’s good to know someone else found the same things 👍 have a great day 😊
I have the arc 5 myself and haven't used the braun 9. The arc 5 is a close shave for sure but I have sensitive neck area...so I am thinking of getting the Braun 9 for that. Not happy with the Arc 5 around the neck area cause of multiple passes...but for the face it is great!
I’m almost ready to put up a longer review/opinion of the arc 5. The braun is a faster shave for reasons I will give in my video. It doesn’t shave as close as the arc 5 which is in some ways better. In many ways the braun is a better shaver but not for reasons people might think.
Looking forward to it as I hear Panasonic has one called a eslv9n that supposed to have a newer head design that's supposed to be more efficient(but more expensive). But the neck area and sensitivity is where I think the braun series 9 comes out on top. I still may use the panasonic for my face.
Which blade last longer arc5 or series 9?
Alex Rodriguez good question 👍 I’d say the arc5 because it initially shaves closer. Hope that’s helpful 😊
@@experiment54 depends on the skin, for me braun shaves closer...
Rygaros I don’t see how that’s possible. Can you explain?
What model is the arc 5 are you using in the video?
the last gen model, look at the foil and you can see its not the latest with the newest bars on, not that I could see how they could make it any better as its an amazing shaver
Thanks
did he try to blow the razors
😂 😉 yea 🤣 was a joke to make you laugh.
i bought it im going to use it see how close it shaves ill let you know
christopher tarasenko hope you like it as much as I do. I still think it’s brilliant for all the reasons I lay out in my all shaving videos 😊
I have very hard beard and use serie 3 Braun. I have to shave everyday and I feel I had to shave in twice a day. For your experience which of the shaving your e showing is more efficient with less bruising?
The Panasonic arc5 is for me better than the braun as it shaves closest and lasts the longest ie shave less often. Should get you through a day. BUT it takes longer to shave. Hope that helps 😊
Ricardo Watch my other video on the Panasonic arc 5 after I had it for a month. That covers how it shaves 😊
The video is called “Panasonic Arc5 shaver review”
Which one is better for the head?
I’ll have a video on that soon. Short answer. Depends. Arc5 shaves closer so you end up looking balder. Braun will shave longer hair. Depends how often you want to shave and how you want to look etc. The same sort of things I say about the arc5 and braun in my longer review also apply to the head.
@@experiment54 OK thanks for the reply, I appreciate it... Have you tried the andis foil shaver by any chance?
Joe V no sorry. never heard of it 😊
Joe V hi have u tried the andis shaver yet ? My barber uses it it has gold screen it does a good close shave and it’s cheaper then the Braun and Panasonic hope it helps mate
which one u use for head?
I’ve used both. Both cut differently. I have videos on both in the shaving playlist on my channel. I only own the Panasonic arc5 now. It shaves closer than the braun but can take a little longer. Hope that helps?
@@experiment54 thx just saw both, it's not really a fair comparison regarding time because in the braun vid u had much longer hair, speed vs closeness is a real dilemma, I wish there's something that can give as close a shave to a razor in less than 3 minutes hmmm
xoxUnD3R0aThxox fair comment but I had both the shavers for long enough to gauge how long they took in comparison. The braun shaved faster but not as close. The arc5 shaves close but not as fast due to the reasons I gave in my videos 😊
The braun is far better with longer hair.
To be honest it’s swings and roundabouts. Both can give a shave in 3 minutes if you aren’t picky.
Personally I prefer the convenience of an electric razor over a wet shave any day as I’ve always found wet shaving time consuming 😊
Hope you find what you’re looking for in a shaving experience 👍 and thanks for commenting.
Hey i use panasonic to shave my head n face its a good shaver but blades do get dull pretty fast tbh
Thanks for sharing your experience. I have been wondering how long before my blade gets worn. It’s a bit worn but nothing that effects shaving my face, though I expect shaving my head would blunt it faster as the hair is corser.
Still the best shaver ever. I think the new model may have an updated tougher blade but I may have read that wrong.
Mohammed Ashraf hey how are you liking the Panasonic for shaving your head? Does it get as close as a razor?
Can this also be charged without that huge stand, only with a cord? For traveling this is very inconvenient!
Yes can be charged with the cable only, like when travelling. Can also be purchased without the charging stand, is cheaper.
@@experiment54 Thanks for your quick respons! I am considering the newest version the LV9Q. I guess the newest without the stand is the LV6Q. Thanks!
You’re welcome. I’ve looked at that new one. Looks good! They’ve changed/improved(?) the foil/cutter. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do my Arc5 😊
@@experiment54 I hope I won't regret because my friend recomends the Philips S9151 (3 rotating heads).
I’m not keen on the rotating heads used by Philips. I never felt they shaved as close. The Panasonic’s are held by many reviewers as the best shavers for a reason. 😊 But at the end of the day it comes down to your whiskers thickness and face shape.
Maybe your friend could let you try his so you can see how close it shaves and if you get yours from amazon you can always return if it’s not as good but I’d be surprised if you did
So braun good for longer hair, but will the arc5 be enough for long hairs? Or does it take long to shave?
yes the braun is better for longer hair but it won't shave as close as the arc5
Arc 5 is a bad bwoy dry shaver. Truss me don, only ting I found, is dat it’s edger ( the lil one ) round the back it’s blades get quite hot very quickly, it may cause an issue for some peoples, Nuff said peace ✌️
I still haven't bought it. My beard is very coarse because the hairs of my beard are grey. Hope it works well.
Bmw Forlife once you do buy it I bet you’ll wonder why you waited 👍 😊
@@experiment54 What's holding me back are the negative comments on amazon like: it is cheap plastic, the battery dies after 5 months, the warrantee of Panasonic is not loyal, etc.
Bmw Forlife wow. Not seen those. All the shavers are plastic. It makes them lighter. The braun may feel a little more substantial as it’s a larger shaver and has another softer cover over it that your hand contacts.
Can only speak from experience. My battery is still ok. I bought from amazon so my warranty is with them not panasonic. They’ve been good in the past so have no reason to believe they won’t be if something goes wrong but maybe those people know something I don’t.
You also have to think about the people posting. Think of the most stupidest dumbest person you know. Maybe it’s them.
Atleast with me you can see me and hear me speak so you have some idea of what I’m like as a person 😊
I’ll do an updated video soon on battery wear and blade/foil wear. Maybe it’ll help put your mind at rest 😊
@@experiment54 Considering the price difference of 100 euro between the arc 5 which costs 130 or the newest LV-6Q which is 230 and my doubts I guess the old school Arc 5 is the best choice.
Bmw Forlife depends how good the new blade/foil system is. Trouble is at some point you gotta take a chance and jump. I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again , for me the Panasonic is up there with one of the best things I use. It improves my quality of life by allowing me to be clean shaven each day. I sit and watch TH-cam whilst I shave. It’s brilliant. I did feel it felt cheaper at first in hand but i quickly realised why, they had made it lighter compared to the braun, and the shaving experience is better for me than the braun. 😊 if I had to sell stuff to survive the arc5 would be near last on the list 😊
The Panasonic Arch 5 clearly provides the closest shave of any shaver out there. However like you said, it can be a little too close and cause some discomfort on the neck area for instance. The Braun Series 9 seems to be the best choice if you want a great close shave with less irritation. However the new Norelco Prestige 9000 also seems to be a great option. It is a lot quieter, light, well made, and cuts very close and better than their prior 9000 model. I think a lot of people would enjoy seeing you review this shaver as well. Based on what I have read, it is at least on par with the Series 9 but it lacks a cleaning station. I called Norelco about this and they said the Prestige 900 does not need a cleaning station. I think with the Braun and Panasonic all in one cutters and foil cartridge system, the cleaning station may be helpful. With such a simple but effective design, the Prestige 9000 its easier to clean with just water.
Keef Richards sounds good. I enjoy the cleaning station of the arc5 because it saves me having to do anything other than pop it in and hit the button haha 😊
Thanks for letting me know about the Norelco 👍
Any arc 5 or specific one?
for me it is tough around the mustache area with it
I don’t suffer any problems there.
Did you make this video because you had nothing to do that day and nobody to talk to, like you just wanted to chit-chat a bit? Why not make a REAL video, AFTER you've tried it for a while, and AFTER you've made up your mind, okay?
I do that. My viewers know that. Check out the shaving playlist and the reviews of things I own and use.
Johnny Sins?
Not the first time I’ve heard that 😂😆
Hey mate! I just ordered it! Very excited. I read bad reviews about people who got used dirty shavers and had to send it back or Panasonic had a bad service concerning warranty. I keep my fingers crossed.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine. I’m just using it now infact 😊
Ps...not heard about people getting dirty shavers! Yuk!
@@experiment54 I just unpacked it. First impression: superlight! The lock function doesn't completely lock the head. There is still some minor movement, but I guess that's normal. It's charging now.
Light = Japanese precision 👍
Yea I think my lock may have very slight movement too, not sure as I’m not at home. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine 😊
@@experiment54 I got it for 113 GBP
Bmw Forlife Holy shit that’s a bargain!!!! Can’t argue at that price. It’s a brilliant shave for me 😊
This review/comparison was very confusing and the reviewer spoke too fast, in my opinion. Early on it seemed he favored the Panasonic Arc 5 but ended up declaring the Braun Series 9 best particularly with regards to razor burn sensations. Therefore, the winner is not actually clear, now, is it?
Different use cases that’s why I said they are both good for different circumstances.
As for speaking fast and the review confusing. Is English your first language?
It was pretty clear to me. Both are solid units. The Ar5 is a closer shave but some people (like myself) suffer from razor burn so the Series 9 might be a better option. I'd rather have to shave more often than suffer from redness, pimples etc. Series 9 for me. Good honest review.
Lmao that banana intro
