Yeah, Barry saying the Streak would be a better name wasn't a Supergirl Reference. Cat Grant said the name should be "The Blur" "The Streak" was the name Iris initially called him when she started writing about him at the beginning of Season 1
I thought this episode was gonna suck based on the promo, but it was quite nice to see Barry so happy. It's dumb that episode 21 of 23 is a filler, but still nice.
The answer to the question of "how can they afford it" is Barry is actually rather wealthy. Remember, when reverse Flash Wells died, he left Barry his estate (Star Labs and assets). When you think about it, Barry is probably a millionaire, but most of the "money" is in holdings. It would also explain why they can afford upgrades and why Cisco and the others are paid. It's not like they have day jobs like Joe or Iris.
Brittany with help from Brianna explains the "Greater Good" to Alex. Meanwhile the Flash plot line takes a detour with BART's memory loss. CISCO explains some "timey-whimey" stuff. There are also plenty of comic and sweet moments. Killer Frost despite her worst efforts feels some old affection for Team Flash. With two episode's left to go Brittany and Alex are sure to be in for a Britt Smashing conclusion to this Season of the Flash.
