Hi Brendon!! this video must be the mother of or boxsets, those are out of this world, Thin Lizzy and Mr. Big are outstanding, so many material, extras, killer goodies. Midnight Oli's boxset is also very cool and unique, that's how this stuff should be made. cheers and be well
200 boxsets!?! That's a lot! I probably have around 100. Do you consider the "Original Album Classics" series a boxset? I don't. The Thin Lizzy box is amazing. I missed the BBC boxset released some years ago, so I had to get that one! I'm not a big fan of Mr Big, but that boxset looks awesome. The kind of thing you wish they'd release for each of your fav band! I wish Deep Purple would release such boxsets with unreleased concerts from each Mk. I know for a fact that they are still great bootlegs with good sound quality around that haven't found their way into the "Sonic Zoom" and other official Live releases. Cheers.
great video for your box sets Brendon. The Pink Floyd and Mr.Big along with Midnight Oil are awesome.I have the Thin Lizzy which is a great box set also.I just received Dust Of Time by Hawkwind in the mail. It's a six cd box set
Hi Brendan glad you covered thin Lizzy box set seen Lizzy play many times was at the farewell gig in Dublin in 1983 ! meet Philo once ☘️meet his mother a few times big Lizzy fan have everything they released ! you should check out black star riders 🎸🎸🎸 the van in the pink Floyd picture is called a Commerce very popular in Uk & Ireland in the 1960s my dad drove one for work😂insistently my dad bought me dark side of the moon in 1974 I was 12 still have it 😍 ! ☘️🇮🇪☘️ also a big Floyd fan ! Now my son is his 34 , I also have over 10,000 CD & box sets plus vinyl running out of space! Love your show ☘️🇮🇪☘️paul
Thin Lizzy - what a great band. I didn't begin to appreciate them until I got older. My friend Daryl Gray, who plays bass in Helix, saw them play at a bar in his original hometown of Belfast as a young teenager. Some of those other sets you showed are very impressive. I found a DVD of the concert tour I saw by Pink Floyd, for the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour, which was really good. It was only available on import, but I have an all-region DVD player, so I was able to watch it without any problem.
Hey Brendan..great video..I love box sets as well..but, I am all about the music..While I appreciate the books and trinkets, I find once I have looked at them, they stay in the box never to be seen again..that Midnight Oil set looks amazing..very unique..the Floyd set is amazing..you have a wonderful collection..👍❤glen
The Mr.Big box set is amazing! I like their ballad, I Want to Be With You. They also do a good cover of Cat Stevens, Wide World. Like Genesis and Midnight Oil too. These 'Show and Tell' videos are fun. 😊👍
Hey Brendon, I am really enjoying the Genesis Archive #2 set. As a full fletched Genesis fan as I am as you know or suspect I have all releases etc. great that you pulled that Archive out. All other boxsets look great. Can’t wait for the next boxset episode. Also a great one to have is Archive #1 67-75. 4 CDs
Great video as ever. That Lizzy set is brilliant, they did a reissue after the first run sold out, glad I grabbed it when it came out. I’m still mega jealous over the Mr Big vault set. Been trying to track one down for years but the price and postage to the UK is a killer. I need a holiday in Japan to hunt for stuff like that :-)
Yeah the Mr. Big box is a pricy one, even when it was first released. I passed on it originally due to the price. But then I lucked out finding one for half the cost. Stay on it, hopefully you’ll find one soon that works for your budget.
The best value box sets are the Jethro Tull, King Crimson and Marillion ones. The latest King Crimson related set is the Robert Fripp Exposures set 1977-1983 just announced today. It is the biggest one from them comprising 32 Discs including Blu Rays and DVD's at £160.00 plus postage. It makes the Pink Floyd Early Years price seem like a joke. Basically the record label are using the name Pink Floyd to hike the price up.
For me it’s not about cost as much as what type of archival material is included. I’ve got several of the King Crimson boxsets and didn’t include them because they aren’t straight archival material. They included studio albums as well. But that Pink Floyd boxset had so much unreleased material on it, it more than made up for the price.
I've got approximately 15 000 CDs and around 150 box sets. I love these sites where CDs take centre focus. I'm a CD maniac. Nothing wrong with LPs/vinyls but for me it's Compact Discs forever! 90 % of my collection consists of albums of 60s and 70s Poprock my favourite genres are Sunshine Pop, Bubblegum Pop, Singer/,Songwriters and Soft Rock. Im also into country and country rock music. My favourite artists include The Beatles, Beach Boys, The Bee Gees, Eagles, Supertramp, Bread, America, Elton John and my all time favourite artist, Gilbert O'Sullivan! Brendon seem like such a great guy and he's got a superb collection, although many of HIS favourite genres aren't necessarily MY favourite genres but that's rhe beauty of music. We've got individual music taste. I learn a lot from watching CD collectors like Brendon, music I don't know a whole lot about.
Thank you Thomas, that’s great to hear! I love knowing you’re enjoying the content but also learning something too. That’s one of the things I’ve always tried to use to set my channel apart from the masses.
@@BrendonSnyder Thanks for the personal comment, Brendon! I only discovered your channel last month and I'll be sure to check out your other videos I see you've already made quite a few. Keep up the good work!

@@BrendonSnyder I'm a 42 year old man from Oslo, Norway. I've been collecting CDs since around 1996/1997. There used to be 10 or 12 record shops in Oslo in the mid/late 90s, now there's just ONE left. The things they stock aren't of particular interest to me either but there are two fine Second Hand Stores where they have a vast amount of LPs, CDs etc. I order a lot from Amazon and such but I really love and cherish the experience of going into a CD shop and I used to spend many happy hours there. I hear there's still a great market for CDs in Japan so maybe I'll be able to find some great record shops there if I ever travel that far!
@@BrendonSnyder I've been following Pete Pardo and his Sea of Tranquility Channel for some time now. Your knowledge and passion seem to be on the same level! As I said, I like to subscribe to channels where I can actually learn something and although I DO like melodic AOR and Bluesy rock, I've always gravitated towards to softer side of the music spectrum. I mean, America and Bread are probably my two favourite bands! I like it when you show your CD collection and tell stories about the artists and albums. I'm gonna dive into the more progressive rock music and hopefully build a CD collection I actually listen to on a regular basis instead of them just sitting on the shelves collecting dust! No such problem with the Soft Rock music and 60s Pop CDs I own. They're constantly spinning in my CD player but that's how it goes: The ones we love we REALLY love! The Japanese are crazy about Soft Pop/ Sunshine Pop and I've ordered a vast number of such albums from Japan.

The Thin Lizzy box set is an absolute delight for fans.
Watching your post, Brendon made me begin listening thru it again. Nice video. ✌
Glad it sparked a resurgence in your interest.

That Mr big is exactly what a boxset should be, raised the bar imo
Hi Brendon just starting to explore Mr Big what album do recommend to start with? Cheers from the Captain!
There most popular album is Lean Into It. Later after Paul Gilbert left Richie Kotzen became a member. A great album with Richie is Actual Size.
@@BrendonSnyder Thanks Sir!

I just can't imagine the dollar amount involved. Maybe if I'd remained single . . . 😁
Yes but as someone who is married you have (or should have) two incomes. So it has nothing to do with me being single.
