I bought mine at BPS last year, the first one would lock in place for a few minutes and then on its own, would absolutely just stop working and we’d float away!! BPS sent a replacement unit and after doing the M111 circle calibration several times, this one is great, quiet,& the manual control feature works well..👍🏼
I just installed mine, Pro Tour 24V, and I love that Motorguide has both the Minn Kota bolt pattern(3") as well as their own on the bracket(4"). I was replacing a X5 but the bolt originally had a Minn Kota so it bolted right up without drilling new holes.

Great vid B-Lat! I'm in the market for a trolling motor, but I'm looking more in the range of the MotorGuide Xi5.. My budget won't allow for the Tour (or any other 3K trolling motor, for that matter), and I have a Lowrance Ti2 9" @ the helm I plan to pair it with - and a Lowrance Hook2 7X @ the bow.. I hate that I have to buy a NMEA 2000 kit also to get it to work, but it's the pitfalls of life. Keep cranking out great content, and I hope that you and your family are staying safe and staying healthy! Tight lines bro!
so for it being the most accurate "anchor-spot lock-GPS" trolling motor on the market-more calculations are to be expected due to wind,waves,etc. I think its like within a 1' of your lock waypoint! Russell Marine Products has a great video of this feature with the Engineer. Thanks for the video-always great stuff. keep'em rolling
The head units size is a trade off for the break over feature. All the steering mechanism is housed up top, allowing the flex at the mount. I dig it.
That motorguide does look good on the Falcon. Every time I go in Bucks I think dang that’s a sexy boat. They had a F205 in their awhile back in a red, white, and blue scheme that was sexiest boat I’ve seen....Kinda surprised you don’t run the force to integrate with the 126’s. I have no experience with it but the ghost with the breakaway and the way the head on it is pretty nice looking too....Stick the ultrex on the 1710 now with a 36v lithium battery and your money....Been enjoying the videos. Keep dropping one a day been great during the stay at home times. Between you, Scott Martin, Richard Gene the fishing machine, and Jacob Wheeler I’ve stayed entertained.

Very nice install you did B-Lat! I have an older 75lb thrust 24v motorguide pro series and love it. It has the hard rubber shock absorbers vs the springs like yours has and I actually like them too. Thanks for the nice vid!

1 year update with the trolling motor... What is your updated opinion on it so far? Did you get the anchor lock to calibrate? Do you regret moving from the Ultrex? Are you going to keep it or possibly try a Lowrance or Garmin in the future?
Interesting to see how you like it. Ya might want to read those instructions to see if it needs to be calibrated. LOL. Money says yes.

Got video of a dude on a bicycle steeling my trolling motor off the bow of my boat. Of course he couldn't get the bracket but never the less the best part is gone. Considering a motor guide this time. Thx for the relevant idea.
If i remember right you run Garmin Electronics. So why not a Garmin Trolling Motor to pair with the Electronics?

The mount looks simple and streamlined. The head looks a little spaceshippy but i like that look. Nice job on the install. I wonder why these new trolling motors still have a big bundle of wires from the pedal to the head? Surely that could be done over bluetooth or something and not have to worry about that big loop of wires getting in the way of stuff.
Hi B Lat... I'm sure there's a quick calibration that can be done with the remote. I have a motorguide xi5 and I love everything about it ( minus the electric foot pedal) . Anchor mode and heading lock beat my previous Minn Kota hands down.

it is a nice motor for sure, I like the low profile of it compared to the ultrex because my cover doesn't fit as good.

I need to upgrade my trolling motor. I was looking at that model in a 24v version. But I will probably upgrade my electronics first.

Good video, we will be looking to upgrade TM soon so I loved seeing this. Looks like it was an easy swap from MK to the new MG. That spot lock feature was a little much, Ill be curious to learn more about that. Great video as always B-Lat and thank you!
I bought a Tour with the sonar. My only complaint is I didn't spend the difference and get the Pro model with anchor lock. Mine's a 24V with 82lbs of thrust, on my Triton TR186 it's more than enough.
I have same trolling motor. Had recall done an still goes crazy when you use anchor mode. They want me to pay full price for a replacement I wouldn't recommend this to anyone

What do you do with your old products such as trolling motors etc. that new one is sharp man I like the red it matches with your boat.
Brian, great video but - unless you just got time and want to spend a lot of frustrating time screwing up and getting mounting parts or you just like doing it , pay a good tech to install it. if you got a day job you'll save money.

Kyle Welcher (Elite Pro) got one recently too. Didn't say but I'm sure it was a promotion because that is the loudest motor I've ever heard in Kyles videos. He's runs on high power mostly too....so it is what it is.

I broke down and bought one today b . I really hope it ends up being reliable and not like the x5. Every dealer wanted me to buy the minn Kota because they been running them forever now. Although the last lake fork tournament if I had a dollar for every uktrex being worked on I could buy a new motor. What do you think about the new pro tour and do you think it has leaps and bounds compared to what the last models were ? I hope I made a good choice going with my gut and not what everyone told me to run. How can they know its junk if it hasn't been out ? Motor guide has to repair there name and come back . I love the cable drive and metal footpedal. If somthings broke dont fix it and don't make every little thing wireless and electronic. We don't want more stuff to break.

No you cant. I run a 101 on mine n get 4. Trolling motors regardless of how many won't get you over 6-7 due to planning.

Would be hard to go to that from an ultrex. Honestly think ultrex is quieter. Thats sounded loud. Think the only think these new trolling motors on the market have over the ultrex is being brushless. I'm sure minn kota is already on that too.
Nope it has brushes and is much quieter than the Ultrex

thanks for the video. i have had one of those on order since november and still do not have it. i am looking forward to getting it because i want to use the anchor feature. i know you were complaining about the many adjustments on the anchor mode. this can be because the motor guide anchor system is much more accurate. one of the best guides here on table rock has ran both minnkota and motor guide gps systems, and says that hands down the motor guide system is way more accurate. so, that is probably why the many adjustments before it locks in. i think you will like the fully cable steering. how was the foot pedal torque with the speed cranked up??

Get a wrap made for the motor cover/head unit.
As for the bracket...as long as it works.

Did you notice the weight difference btw the motorguide and the ultrex? They claim its alot lighter...also the head not moving around and wrapping cables is enough for me to not buy the ultrex in general...im gonna get one
Brian, is the tension on the pedal adjustable. One of the things I don't like about the ultrex is how touchy the pedal is.

Anchor mode doesn't seem to be as smooth as the Ultrex and Ghost.
It will be interesting to see how the Garmin compares.

B Lat, you need to calibrate this trolling motor before making it look like it's not working properly in its anchor mode. I don't think it's a FAIR review for the new Motorguide Tour Pro. Show us this video again after it's calibrated buddy!

I have been waiting since February 7th, 2020 (prepaid) for the tour pro I ordered. it is now Dec 10th, 2020. i recently looked at Tackle warehouse where I ordered it and says Jan 22 2021 before in stock. with shipping time it will be over a year (if it does become available????) since I ordered this. this is obscene. at some point what is false advertising when a product is advertised, they take your order, and can never deliver.
What made you choose motorguide over garmin or lawrance? If you went with the garmin you could have linked it to your graphs.

Hey wanna get rid of that ultrex let me know. I am new too the fishing game, just bought a champion 190 and herd the ultrex is IT. Just can't see spending 2k plus for a trolling motor. And good luck finding one used that isn't priced new also.
Better off getting it new for the warranty. I'm going to pull the trigger soon!

Need to know how heavy duty it is built VS minnkota which is built cheaply and very breakable. Minnkota has lots of brittle plastic junk on it.
